Brunswick-Sidney L Thurlow, 81, died at home with his family by his side, on June 27, 2009 after a long illness.

He was born on August 13, 1927 to Irving and Ida Thurlow of Bowdoinham.

When not spending time with his family, Sidney enjoyed woodworking, reading and playing solitaire on his computer.

Sidney proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII.

He retired in 1991 after 20 years of service at BIW.

Sidney is predeceased by his parents, his son Tim Thurlow, great grandson Timothy Thurlow, as well as 2 sisters and 2 brothers.

He is survived by his wife Zada Thurlow of Brunswick, his son Mike Thurlow of Idaho, his daughter Cathy Dowling and her husband Steve Dowling of Bangor, his daughter Kim Holbrook and her husband Lew Holbrook of Woolwich, his son David Thurlow of Bath, one brother Paul Thurlow of Richmond, 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will take place on Thursday, July 2nd, at 10am in the Richmond Cemetery, Richmond.
