Lawrence Huntington

Richmond - Lawrence Huntington,75, of Langdon Rd, Richmond, passed away peacefully, after a long illness on Friday, February 13, 2009 with family at his side after a brief stay at Russell Park Manor in Lewiston.

He was born at his grandparents home on Nov.13,1933, the son of Marjorie Wren and Horace Huntington .He was educated in local schools and remained a lifelong resident of the community . After graduation he was employed as a milk truck driver, then because of his love of the outdoors, he worked as a self-employed woodsman. Then prior to retirement in 1995, he worked as a manager of a group home. He was a former Greek Orthodox priest, a local licensed preacher as well as a member of the Blue Holiness Fellowship Church and a former Member of the Enterprise Grange #48.

He enjoyed going out to eat, loved watching movies, reading western novels and the National Geographic. A favorite pastime was building things in his wood working shop. In earlier years, he loved to hunt, trap, fish and tend his farm. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, raising rabbits and going camping with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Louise Huntington, of Richmond; a son, Russell Huntington and wife Irene, of Arundel; daughter ,Denise Clavet and husband, Romeo, of Lewiston; daughter, Barbara Girard and husband. Roger, of Richmond; 2 step children, David Pinkham, and his wife, Rebecca, of Bath; Mary Collins and husband, Wayne, of Richmond. Grandchildren John, Joy, Jacob, Jeff, Alex, Chris, and Nick. Step-grandchildren Ronnie, Lexi, Cameron, and his loving dog Sasha. His great granddaughter princess Bella Huntington. His former wife, Louise Robbins Huntington, currently resides in Hallowell at Woodlands Manor. He is predeceased by his parents, Horace and Marjorie Huntington, of Richmond.

There will be a small gathering of friends and family to celebrate his life on Sat., Feb 21, at the Nazarene church on the Alexander Reed Rd in Richmond from 1pm to 4pm. Burial will take place in the spring.
