Deborah Light

Bowdoinham-Deborah E. Light DVM, 53, of the River Rd. passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2009 after a long courageous battle with Lymphoma and MDS at Maine Medical Center, Portland.

She was born on September 8, 1955 in Albany, New York the daughter of Edward Jr. and Carolyn (Van Alstyne) Light.

Deborah attended the University of New Hampshire for two years before transferring to Cornell University where she received her Bachelor of Science, Masters of Science and her DVM.

Before moving to Maine in 1996, she owned and operated her own small animal Veterinary practice known as Sheep Meadow in Ghent New York for many years.

Deborah was a life long member of the alumni of the school of agriculture and veterinary medicine.

Enjoyed camping, visiting with friends, traveling and was an avid sports fan.

Deborah is survived by her parents of New York, her life partner Lucille Morrison of Bowdoinham, brothers Thomas Light and wife Debbie of New York, Howard “Bud” Light and wife Patricia of New York, sister Barbara Light and companion Chuck of New York, several nieces, nephews, two great nieces, and her dogs Ruby and Rosie.

There will be a private memorial service held at a later date.
