Dresden-Dwight W. Cook, 64, of the Middle Rd. died unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Augusta.

He was born on June 26, 1943 in Richmond the son of Leon and Dorothy (Smith) Cook.

Dwight worked for Bath Iron Works for over 30 years as a crane operator, lead man for rigging and Material Clerk.

He was a past member of the Dresden Volunteer Fire Department from 1974 to 1990 and former first and third selectman of Dresden.

Dwight was predeceased by his parents Leon and Dorothy Cook, sister Sharon Cook, brother Clifton Cook, sister in-law Muriel Cook and brother in-law Durwood Thompson.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years Estelle Cook of Dresden, daughters Carla Suire and husband Steve of Limestone, Crystal Leeman and her husband Kerry of Wiscasset, Monica Marcum and her husband Henry of Oregon, Roberta Green and her husband David of North Whitefield, sons Wayne Cook and his wife Debie of New Jersey, Ryan Cook and his wife Sharon of New York, step son Frank Anderson of Ellsworth, step daughter Shanna McNeil and husband Eric of Georgia, father in-law Charles Rittall of Dresden, Mother in-law Mildred Rittal, Brother in-law Charles Rittall Jr., Farmingdale, sister in-law Cheryl Martin of Richmond, sister in-law Stephanie Haskel of Dresden, 21 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

A graveside service will take place in the spring at Forest Hill Cemetery, Dresden.
