Carlson M. Harvey
Oakdale, Connecticut-Carlson Harvey, 83, of Oakdale, died September 12, 2007 of respiratory failure at the William W. Backus Hospital, CT.
Pop leaves his beloved daughter, Elfrieda E. Harvey of Oakdale, son’s Paul E. Harvey and his wife Sharon and their daughter Holly Harvey of Richmond, Maine, Jonathan C. Harvey and his wife Helen and their children Marybeth Harvey and Adam Harvey of Oakdale, Sister Onia Mae Solon. He was predeceased by his brother Ross Frank Harvey Jr.
Pop worked at Cooly Chevrolet as an under coater in 1951. In 1953 he started his own rubbish route and in 1955 he started “Do it Right Call Harvey”. In 1964 Pop became a member of IUOE Local No. 478. In 1985 Pop became owner/operator of Local No. 478 starting the business of Carlson Industries, Inc bridge builders.
Pop loved the simple things in life, rabbit hunting, fishing, dancing, going to the Polish Club, and let’s not forget going to the Brown Derby for chicken wings and a beer after services on Sunday. Pop was a member of the Oakdale Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Saturday, September 15th from 12 to 3pm at Kincer Funeral Home; followed by a service at 4pm at the Kingdom Hall 38 Eastern Ave. Augusta, Me 04330. Burial will take place on Sunday, September 16th at 10am at Richmond Cemetery, Richmond.
