Virginia Astrid Daggett
Brunswick-Virginia Astrid Daggett, of Bath, passed away quietly Wednesday morning July 4, 2007 with her loving husband of 63 years and her daughter by her side at Midcoast Hospital.
Astrid was born 3/29/1930 the daughter of Joseph and M. Evelyn Henrikson, in S. Thomaston, Maine. At 11 she and her family moved to Bath, where in 1945 she married Douglas A. Daggett. Together they had 4 children, Patricia, Diane, Douglas, and Daniel. She worked for a number of years as an Asst. and bookkeeper for Dr. Penttingill in Brunswick, and over 30 years for Dr. Ricciardone on Front St., Bath.
She will always be remembered for her immense love of family, flowers, antiquing, cooking, the SDA Church and vacations in Brookton on Baskahegan lake.
Astrid is predeceased by her daughter Patricia Daggett, father Joseph Henrikson, and her brother Henry Henrikson.
Surviving are her husband Douglas A. Daggett of Bath, mother M. Evelyn Henrikson, daughter Diane A. Plummer and her husband Daniel, their son Shane his wife Amanda and son Audie, their son Kerry his wife Nicole, son Douglas A. Daggett his partner Carol and his daughter Kara, son Daniel A. Daggett and his wife Susan, their daughters Isabel and Phoebe and son Samuel. Sisters Beverly Henrikson, Joanne Pottle, Marie Snowdon, Sylvia Ames, Pricilla Daggett, Patricia Daggett, Iva Daggett, a brother Carl Henrikson, and many nieces and nephews.
A family graveside service in Brookton Maine, will be held on Friday, July 6, 2007 at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Astrid’s memory to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
