James F. Jangraw
TOPSHAM — James F. Jangraw, 81, died on Wednesday, May 9, 2007, at his home.
He was born in Montpelier, Vt., on Aug. 11, 1925, the son of Frank O. and Persis Woodworth Jangraw. He attended schools in Montpelier and graduated from St. Michael's High School in 1943. He then enlisted in the Navy and served on active duty in both the Atlantic and Pacific theatres until the end of World War II.
He graduated from Becker College in 1948, and began employment with Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. in Boston. He spent his entire career with that company until his retirement in 1987.
In 1949, he married Evelyn Jean Lacillade, and they lived and raised their family in Natick, Mass., until moving to Topsham in 1972.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Susan and her husband, Maxwell Barus, of Leeds and Constance and her husband, Jon Morris, of Berlin, Germany; two sons, Douglas and his wife, Debra, of Massachusetts and William and his wife, Fé, of California; six grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy Chesley of New Hampshire.
He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Jangraw; four sisters, Elenor Whittemore, Maxine Valz, Marion Jangraw and Kathleen Jangraw.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
