Samuel E. Trussell
Pittston-Samuel E. Trussell, 95, of Wiscasset Rd. passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at Veterans Administration Medical Center, Togus.
He was born on September 21, 1911 in Dresden the son of Wilmot and Nina (Johnson) Trussell.
Sam proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He was a self employed farmer his entire life.
Sam was a member of the Dresden Methodist Church, Dresden Grange and the Dresden Masonic Lodge.
He enjoyed writing poems in his earlier years, baseball, animals, and past Capt. of the Church baseball team. Sam was also the Valedictorian of his class at the Bridge Academy in Dresden.
He was predeceased by his parents and several Brothers and Sisters. Sam is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years Alice Trussell of Dresden, children Sharon Rackliff of Dresden, Linda Parks of Pittston, Cheryl Bruno and her husband Paul of Union, Beverly Acord and her Husband Michael of Pittston, Mike Trussell and his wife Maureen of Waterville, 12 Grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service will take place on Monday, December 11th at 1pm at Forest Hill Cemetery in Dresden.
