Louise S. Cooper

Richmond-Louise S. Cooper passed away August 25, 2006, in Topsham, Maine after suffering a stroke. She was born the daughter of Nellie Libby Smith and Oscar Samuel Smith in Bowdoinham on January 24, 1914. Upon her graduation from Richmond High School, Louise worked in manufacturing for several years. On April 20, 1946, she married Wilber A. Cooper of Richmond.

Louise was a lifelong member of the Richmond Methodist Church (now known as the Dresden-Richmond United Methodist Church), where she taught Sunday school and Bible School. She enjoyed local history, Maine artists, poetry, gardening, sewing, baking, knitting, and bird-watching.

Louise was predeceased by two sisters, Eleanor and Norma, and two brothers, Stanley and Oscar.

Survivors include a son, Alvin R. Cooper of Ballston Spa, New York, a daughter, Carolyn Cooper Case of Brunswick, Maine, six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
