Richmond, Maine-Craig Matteson, 57, of Kimball St. and formerly of Chatham, Massachusetts, passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2006 at his residence.

He was born on April 6, 1949 in Hyannis, Massachusetts, the son of the late Kenneth and Helen Matteson.

He was educated in the Chatham schools and was a 1968 graduate of Barnstable vocational school. Craig was employed by Kenny’s Boatyard and Crosby’s Boatyard on Cape Cod. He also designed boats for Sample’s Boatyard in Boothbay Harbor and for Boston Whaler in Norton Mass.

Craig will be remembered for his sense of humor and his love of children, pets, and the sea.

He is survived by 3 sons; David of Washington, NH, Scott of Burlington, VT, and Curtis of Richmond , ME, and one daughter Elizabeth of Cranston, RI, two brothers, Thomas of Bailey Island, ME and Kenneth of Tampa, FL, one sister and brother in-law Betsy and Mark Crowell of Litchfield, ME., 9 grandchildren and two very special and beloved nieces, Aleta Cugno of Bowdoin, ME and Hollie Crowell of Orr’s Island, ME. Several nieces, nephews and cousins survive. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother David.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 14th, at 2pm at Kincer Funeral Home 130 Pleasant St. Richmond, Maine. 207-737-4395
