Donald L. Waltz

Richmond-Donald L. Waltz, 82, of Pleasant St. passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2006 at Maine Veteran’s Home, Augusta.

He was born on March 14, 1924 in Richmond the son of Frank and Sadie (Berce) Waltz and attended Richmond Schools.

Don proudly served his country in the Army Air corps during WWII in the European Theater.

He retired from VA Hospital at Togus in 1979 after 33 years of dedicated government service.

Don loved to play golf and to spend the summers camping with family and friends. He enjoyed making woodworking projects with his brother Ervine and good friend Leslie Seekins.

He was on the board of directors for the Bowdoinham Federal Credit Union and the Richmond Utilities District for many years. Don was a life long resident of Richmond. He was also a loving father and husband.

Don was predeceased by his parents Frank and Sadie (Berce) Waltz, beloved wife Geraldine (Lizzotte) Waltz, Daughter Madeleine Ann (Waltz) Huff, Brother Ervine Waltz, Sisters Beatrice Webber and Viola James. He is survived by a Son Donald Waltz, Jr. and wife Michelle of Berwick, Grandsons Scott Huff of Rochester, NH, Michael Waltz of Richmond, Jonathan Waltz of Berwick Granddaughter Donna Waltz of Berwick, Many nieces, nephews and cousins

Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, May 7th from 3 to 7pm at Kincer Funeral Home, 130 Pleasant St. Richmond with prayers for the departed being offered at 6pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 8th at 11am at St. Ambrose Catholic Church Kimball St. Richmond. Burial will follow at Richmond Cemetery for Don and his wife Geraldine who passed in January.
