Frederick Andrew Merrill

BOWDOIN — Frederick Andrew Merrill, 68, died unexpectedly Thursday, April 27, 2006, at his home. He was working with his tractor, as he always did, and there was an accident. He died doing what he loved to do.

He was born on Aug. 27, 1937, the son of Dwight and Anina Merrill.

After his service, he was a firefighter in Florida and also spent years driving big rigs all across the country. He spent a great deal of time working in excavation as well. He loved his tractors and tools. Everything that makes a man a man, he did. His daily routine consisted of tinkering with his equipment and tools.

For his friends and family, his friendship will live on forever.

He was a soldier, a father and a dear friend to anyone who knew him. He spent his remaining days living with Eric Sheen of Bowdoin.

Surviving are two sons, Richard Merrill and Jesup Merrill.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the West Bowdoin Baptist Church Cemetery.
