Togus, VA-John William Beggs, 61, passed away Friday evening September 22.  John was born in Carlstadt, NJ on June 23, 1962, son of George and Ann Beggs.  

After becoming an automotive mechanic, John went on to be an airplane mechanic at Teterboro Airport. He then joined the US Navy and served on six ships over his career, including Supship Bath which is the assignment for ship construction in Bath, Maine.  John retired from the US Navy as a Petty Officer First Class and went on to work for Sayres & Associates, overseeing construction of innovative new ship designs for the US Navy.

John is survived by his sister Barbara, brother Patrick, and nephews Michael and Mickey, along with his many friends, especially Howard and Patricia Allyn.

John will be laid to rest in the Massachusetts National Veterans Cemetery in Bourne, MA.
