Alice M. Murphy went home to be with her Lord and savior on Feb. 23, 2023.

She was born on Sept. 3, 1928 to William and Marie Smith of Alna, Maine. She married Herbert L. Murphy in 1946.

Alice was predeceased by her sister Louise Baird, brothers Joseph, Harry and Leon Smith, and her sons, John and Henry Murphy.

She is survived by her son Patrick and his wife Jane. Her grandchildren are Herbie and wife Faye Murphy, John Murphy, Patrick Murphy and June Thompson and her husband Kenneth.

Alice was an avid hunter. She enjoyed trips through the north woods.

She was part of a music ministry with her husband Herb and brother-in-law Carlton. They played in many churches through the years. She taught herself how to play the auto harp and wrote many hymns.

A service will be held at the Church of the Nazerene on Route 27, Wiscasset on Monday, Feb. 27 at 2 p.m.
