Jane T. Holden

HoldenJane T. Holden, passed away October 30, 2024, with her family by her side.

Jane was born on February 1, 1941 to Louise and George Trombley.  She grew up in Bloomfield Connecticut before moving to Maine where raise her two boys.  Jane loved Maine. While she was living in Cumberland she worked as an Education Technician,at the Mabel. I. Wilson School. While living in East Boothbay, the place she called home for many years, she was ahead of her time starting the Frogurt Factory in the Opera House in Boothbay Harbor.

In retirement she spent more and more time in Florida. These past years Palmetto Florida became home. Blessed with a view of ocean just as she was in Maine.

Ever the socialite, Jane made friends wherever she lived.  She loved to read and play bridge, but golf was her passion.  She played courses all over Maine, her sons even grew up as caddy’s and then played golf as well.  Even as Jane’s illness of Pulmonary Fibrosis took her energy she played as long as she could, hitting a hole in one not that long ago.

Jane is predeceased by her father, mother and oldest sister Susan Schatz, and husband Leo Walz. Survivors include her two sisters, Deborah Latham and Sara (Sally) Wall, two sons and their spouses-William and Gayle, James and Melissa, and companion Howard Shultz.  Jane was blessed with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren who made her last weeks brighter.

The family would like to thank the staff at MidCoast Hospital and CHANS Home Health and Hospice.  The care and support they shared was beyond measure.

There will be a family service at Forest Hill cemetery in Dresden Maine and a gathering in the future for her family and friends in Palmetto Florida.  In lieu of flowers please consider donating to your local library or hospice organization.
