Howard Douglas Moody, Jr.

website MoodyLewiston- Howard Douglas Moody Jr., known more commonly as Doug or Papa, passed away on August 11, 2024, in Lewiston, Maine surrounded by loved ones. Born on May 30, 1949, to Howard and Pearl Moody (McDonald), Doug's life was marked by his warmth, humor, and the deep connections he forged with both people and animals. 

 Doug's early years were spent in the army. After his military service, he embarked on a lifelong career at Tex-Tech Industries where he made some lifelong friendships, until his retirement.

 Doug was well known for playing power ball weekly. He enjoyed staying up late to watch wrestling, indulging in weird sci-fi movies and classic westerns.  He had a love for fishing and hunting, playing horseshoes and cornhole, NASCAR and football. Above all, Doug cherished the time spent with his family, creating lasting memories that they will hold dear. 

 Doug is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 51 years, Barbara; his children, Melissa Moody and her partner John Raymond, and Craig Moody along with his wife Jenny. His grandchildren, Siera Leavitt and her husband Cody, Dylan Dube, Briana Moody and her partner Hunter Carson, and Craig Moody Jr., as well as his great-grandchildren Vera and Theo Leavitt. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Margaret Estabrook, brothers-in-law, Ed Giguere, Charlie, and Junior Wentzell, his niece, Cindy Morin, nephews George and Jeff Vannah, as well as an “adopted” son, Ed Dube. All of whom will miss him profoundly. Doug will be joining in heaven his sister, Barbara Giguere, his parents and his brother-in-law, Glen Wentzell.

 Doug's legacy of kindness, humor, and loving dedication to his family and friends will forever be remembered and cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Per Doug’s request there will be no funeral services.
