Helen 89 went to be with the lord on November 27, 2022 unexpectedly.

Helen was born in Richmond October 13, 1933, to Minnie Black Gray and Reginald
Gray.

She married James W. Read on June 3, 1951, together they had 4 children,
Reginald, Linda, Jay, and Jamie, they stayed married 64 years until Jimmy's death
in 2014. She resided in Bowdoinham most of her life then moved to Phippsburg to
live with her son Reggie and wife Gail.

Mom was a very giving and generous person. She knitted all sorts of things from
clothing to toys to give away, she made dishcloths and hanging dishtowels for the
veterans for Christmas every year, and she put together many care kits for
disaster relief for the Nazarene Church in Richmond.

Helen was a lifetime member of the Merrymeeting Grange in Bowdoinham. She
was also longtime member of the Richmond Post 132 Auxiliary. She really
enjoyed playing cards and attending the Golden Oldies Senior center in Richmond
and going to lunches in Bowdoinham, she liked calling Bingo and playing several
cards for herself.

The big thing Mom enjoyed and commented on was her many rides with Dad and
family, they even drove across the United States camping and visiting a lot of
state parks with their children, they also drove to many states to visit family. She
really enjoyed reading and writing down all the books she read, going shopping
for deals, and growing houseplants.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her grandson Jason Belanger,
also two brothers Harvey and Lloyd Gray.

Helen is survived by son Reginald and wife Gail of Phippsburg, daughter Jamie
Read of Phippsburg, son Jay Read of Delaware, and Linda England of Bowdoin.
Sister Barbara White of Lisbon, 8 grandchildren, 10 great-children, and 2 great-
great grandchildren many nieces and nephews, and her best friend Sarah
Lancaster.

There will be a celebration of life and a committal in the spring.

A celebration of life will take place on May 7th at 1pm at the Old Bowdoinham Grange, Main St. Bowdoinham.
