Karen Dostie
Brunswick-Karen Dostie, 39, of Brunswick, ME, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at Midcoast Hospital surrounded by her close family and loved ones.
Karen was born September 21st, 1982 In Augusta, ME to Paul Lamoreau and Lorran Launiere. Karen was the first born of five children and certainly took on the role as a nurturer to her younger siblings.
Karen battled with a progressive form of a mitochondrial disease that prematurely contributed to her passing. Given the short time Karen had here on earth, she touched so many hearts. Karen always wanted to help others and had her own ways of doing so, whether it was a talk, a gift, a hug, a thank you. She was a stubborn but private individual and put other’s needs above her own.
Karen graduated from Gardiner Area High School in 2000. She ended her working career with the State as an Eligibility/LTC/ Katie Beckett worker. Karen was quite the event planner, loved her daughters dearly, and was greatly involved with her nieces and nephews. She will be truly missed by those who were fortunate enough to meet her.
Karen is survived by her husband Tanner Dostie of Brunswick; her daughters, Kelsey Spearin of Augusta, Madeleine Dostie of Brunswick, and Sofia Dostie of Winthrop.
Karen is survived by her father Paul Lamoreau and his fiancé Erica of Augusta; her mother and step father, Lorran and Sylvain Launiere of Rome. She is also survived by her four siblings, Paul Lamoreau and wife Kristi of West Gardiner, Jessica Salazar of Woolwich, Katie Truman and husband Eric of Farmingdale, Nicholas Lamoreau of Richmond; two step brothers, Eric Collins and wife Brandi of Gardiner, Nick Collins of West Gardiner.
