Wiscasset-June E (French) Caton, 84, died on November 17, 2019 at her home.
She was born in Exeter, NH on June 21, 1935 the daughter of Frank and Thelma (Seavey) French. She moved frequently during her childhood years, but settled in Wiscasset in 1952, where she met Charles Caton. They were married on June 21, 1954 while he was on leave from the Navy.
June was a member of the Newcastle/Alna Baptist Church, TOPS Alna, Wiscasset Senior Center, Richmond Golden Oldies Senior Center, lifetime member of American Legion Auxillary; pitcher for Wiscasset Women's softball team for 20 yrs, candlepin bowling league member, MS Walk participant and volunteer for 20 yrs.
She enjoyed: Camping with her husband Charles, dogs Scooter and Sarah, family and friends at Cathedral Pines Campground in Eustis; playing cribbage and other games; spending time with family and friends; avid
Red Sox, Celtics, and Patriots fan; spending time at Ship's Chow Hall in Wiscasset and going to church.
June had a variety of jobs over the years: apple picking for 21 years at orchards in Wiscasset, Walpole, Damariscotta, and Dresden; worked at local restaurants in Wiscasset, self-employed lawn care, and seasonal work at a local seafood market.
She was predeceased by Charles, her husband of 57 years in 2011; her parents Frank and Thelma French, sisters Arline Davis and Pauline York, brothers Bob Seavey, Donald French, and beloved sister-in-law Virginia Gavett.
June is survived by her daughters: Terrie Banker of Wiscasset, Linda McKeen and husband James of Topsham; Grandchildren: Michael Thompson and
wife Heidi of Rockwood TN, Jason Banker of Augusta, Jamie Wade and husband Rob of Vassalboro, Kacy Gold and husband Clint of Wiscasset; Greatgrandchildren: Hannahmarie Thompson of Rockwood TN. Kassidy, Alana, Robbie, and Declan Wade of Vassalboro, Acacia and Elincia Gold of
Wiscasset; Sister: Mae Santos of New Gloucester; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
