THOMAS SCOTT MANDUCA, 55, of Dresden and Monmouth, Maine died on Friday, June 8, 2018 unexpectedly at work in Skowhegan, ME. Tom was born on April 14, 1963 in York, Maine to William J. and Jeannine Y. (Dionne) Manduca. 

He served as the head swim coach for the Auburn/Lewiston YMCA as part of the Maine State YMCA Swim League, Executive Board of Maine Swimming, Inc., and the Maine Swimming Hall of Fame Committee. Other memberships
included the Saco River Jazz Band, the Monmouth Fish and Game Club, Scout leader in Boy Scout Troop 654 of Monmouth, and Shop Steward of the IBEW Local 2327. 

Tom's life passions were swimming, playing jazz guitar and bass, hiking, being a licensed Ham radio operator (KB1OUG), and watching the Boston Celtics. He also enjoyed travel and reading related to U.S. Civil War history. 

For over 20 years, Tom worked in the telecommunications industry as a technician with Consolidated Communications, Fairpoint Communications, Verizon, Bell Atlantic, and NYNEX. Additionally, he worked as an
assistant manager for the Augusta Water District Filtration Plant. He served his country honorably on active duty from 1995 - 1990 as a Navy First Class Machinist's Mate on the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D.
Eisenhower (CVN69) and various senior enlisted positions as a drilling reservist until the early 2000's. 

His life's passion was as a youth swim coach and instructor for nearly 25 years. 

Tom is survived by his wife, Karen (Emerson) Manduca; Daughter: Laura Manduca; Sons: David and Joseph Manduca; Oldest Brother: William A. Manduca and wife Jean of Knoxville, TN; Sisters-in-law: Tammy Manduca of Augusta, ME., Sandy Perkins of Madison, ME., and Theresa Merchant of Somesville, ME.; Uncles: Ted and Frank Manduca of Old Orchard Beach; Aunts: Beth Conley of New Bern, NC, Anita Labbe of Auburn, ME; Cousins:
Mark Manduca, Rosandra Manduca, John and Brian Conley, Pam Ouimette, and Patti Labbe. 8 nieces and nephews and 5 grand nieces and nephews. 

Tom was predeeased by his parents William J. Manduca and Jeannine Y. (Dionne) Manduca; Younger brothers: Russell and Michael; and nephews: Kyle and Tyler Manduca. 

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Kincer Funeral Home in Richmond, ME. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, Jun 14, 11am at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Augusta, ME.
