Ramona L. Pearson

Pearson

Richmond-Ramona L. Pearson, 85, was reunited with her husband Sewall in heaven on Saturday, June 14, 2014. She passed

away at home, which was her wish, with her sons around her.

The daughter of Royden and Charlotte Haines, she was born on October 1, 1928. She grew up in Bath, and

attended Bath schools along with her two brothers Royden Haines, Jr. (deceased), Ardenne Haines, and three sisters,

Dolores Fitzgerald, Arnola Mullen and Eulalia Barry.

Ramona, known to most as Mona and Mrs. P., was a wife and homemaker. She was married to Sewall L. Pearson for 66 years before his death in January of 2013. Mona was a faithful and supportive wife to her husband as he served as a Pastor in Alna and Richmond. Together, Mona and Sewall had seven sons, James, Micheal, Sewall Jr., Brian, Timothy, Mark and John. Mona also is survived by many grandchildren, several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She also had an extended church family.

One of Mona's favorite past-times was feeding her family. She loved looking through the sale flyers from Shaws and Hannafords and getting a good deal for her groceries. It brought her joy to cook a big meal on holidays for all her sons and their families. Mona loved Christmas. She and Sewall practically filled the living room each year with presents for everyone. Her refrigerator was always full of cans of soda for when her family would visit, and she kept a drawer full of pastries and sweets for everyone too.

For the past 13 years, Mona had been bed-ridden. Her sons took care of her through that time with Brian being her main caretaker. Jeff and Mary also gave of their time to help Mona. For awhile, she lived with her son Sewall Jr. until he passed away, and then she lived with her son John.

There will be no funeral services, as was her wish, but the family will hold a graveside service in the near future. Family and friends will be notified of the ceremony's date and time.

Mona liked to donate money to food banks, so in lieu of flowers please give a donation to your local food bank in her memory.
