Lorelei G. Erskine

Liberty-Lorelei G. Erskine, 54, died quietly at home after a long illness, surrounded by her family on Wednesday, April 16,2014.

Lorelei is survived by beloved husband of twenty years, George Erskine; her daughters Nichole Nevarez of Gardiner, Deserae MacDonald of Bangor and step-son, George Erskine, Jr. of South Portland; three grandchildren, Elissa L. Moreau, Alexis M  Butterfield and Xavier MacDonald; her sisters, Nancy Dow of Winthrop, Martha Peterson of Provo, Utah, Rebecca Dempsey of South Jordan, Utah, Hattie Fletcher of West Gardiner, and Wallene Ross of Augusta; her favorite aunt Grace Ross-Campbell of Readfield; and many, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews .  Lorelei is predeceased by her parents, Olie W. Ross (1997) and Laura A. Ross (2006), Grandson, Robert Morreau, Jr. (1998), sisters, Alice M. Lane (2003), Sandra A. Lane (2005), brothers, Daniel T. Ross (2005) and Thaddeus D. Ross (2013) and nephews Todd O. Ross (1997) and Mark A. Lane (2007).

Lorelei, the sixth child of Olie and Laura Ross, was born August 7th, 1959 in Augusta, Maine. Lorelei has traveled extensively and lived in Maine, Utah, Texas, California, Nevada and Arizona.  She enjoyed making latch-hook rugs and wall hangings, doing puzzles and just enjoying the outdoors.  She loved motorcycle riding with her husband and they spent a lot of time on the road with friends and nephews riding.  Lorelei was always ready to help her friends and neighbors in their time of need with a dish or any other help she could offer.

Celebration of Life Memorial will be held Monday, April 21st at 6:00 p.m. at the American Legion Post #40, Winthrop.
