Sandra “Sandy” L. Linton Plante
Center Ossipee, New Hampshire-Sandra L. Plante, 68, formerly of Gardiner and Richmond, died unexpectedly on Friday, December 30, 2011 at her residence.
She was born on May 23, 1943 in Gardiner the daughter of Blaine and Laura Linton and attended Gardiner Schools.
Sandy was a member of the Sons and Daughters of the American Legion in New Hampshire. She enjoyed crafts, upholstery and particularly sewing.
Sandy worked at Hallowell Shoe in Hallowell and Etonic Shoe in Richmond as a trainer and stitcher.
She was predeceased by her parents. Sandy is survived by her son Mark Hurley and his wife Tricia of Bowdoinham, daughter Laurilee Hurley of New Market, New Hampshire, sisters Glenda Fletcher and her husband Ronald of Manchester, Gail Roberts of Farmingdale, grand children Gregory, Ashley, Tyler, Shayne, Megan, Daniel, one great grandchild Caeden, 8 nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial visitation on Saturday, January 7th from 12 to 1pm with a funeral commencing at 1pm at Kincer Funeral Home. Burial will take place in the spring.

Corinne Melanson
Topsham-Corinne M. Melanson, 87, of Topsham passed away peacefully with her daughter at her side on December 26,2011 at Cadigan Lodge at the Highlands in Topsham.
She was born on April 18, 1924 in Beverly, Massachusetts, the daughter of Harold and Marie Rogers.
Corinne served as the bookkeeper for Melanson Brothers Construction and helped manage Friendship Motor in Old Orchard, both family businesses.
She enjoyed oil painting, needlepoint, gardening and spending time with her husband.
Corinne was predeceased by her husband Edward G. Melanson and her parents. She is survived by her daughter Gail Shears of Colorado, granddaughter Kim Rocco and her husband Thomas of Massachusetts. Also, brother and sister in-law John and Verna Melanson of Nova Scotia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place December 29th at 10am at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Richmond. Interment will at the discretion of the family. A gathering will follow the Mass at the Railway Café in Richmond.

DONALD RAYMOND MORRISSETTE
Augusta-Donald Raymond Morrissette, 88, passed away on December 24, 2011 at the Maine Veterans Home, Augusta, where he was a resident for 2 years and 8 months.
He was born August 5, 1923 at 13 Rowell St., Madison, ME, the son of Albert Joseph and Alida Marie (Campeau) Morrissette.
Mr. Morrissette attended schools in Madison dropping out of high school in his senior year. He achieved his high school diploma through Adult Ed at Waterville High School in 1973 at the age 50.
He started working in Madison Woolen Mill at age 16 and continued there until he was drafted into the Army at age nineteen to serve in World War 11, stationed in Florida, then New Guinea, from there to the Southern Philippines Luzon. For a short time he was stationed in Japan with the Army Occupational Forces. He returned home in December 1945. On returning home he took a course on Auto Body Works and Auto Mechanics through the GI Bill. He then went to work at Great Northern Paper Co. in Madison until 1969. He next worked in lighting sales for different companies, forming his own Padon Commercial and Industrial Lighting Co., retiring in 2001 at age 78. In 1976 he became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints which became the busy highlight of his life.
He is predeceased by his parents and his brothers, Lucien Aime, Roland F., and Maurice R. Morrissette. He was predeceased by his first wife Myrtle Marie (Gould) with whom he had five living children. Maurice Donald, and his wife, Cecilia Ann (Corriveau), of South Paris; ME; Stephen Jeffrey, and his wife, Leslie (Bartlett), of Gorham, NH; Laurier Richard, and his wife, Janet Gail (Harper), of Hallowell, ME; Andrew Raymond, and his wife Cari (Rambuyon), of Mechanic Falls, ME; Lisa Marie, and her husband, Gregory A. Rabe, Fairfield Center, ME. In this family line he has seven grandchildren; Scott and Sherry Lynn Morrissette, Carrol Ann Morrissette, Joel and Lee Morrissette, Craig, Kyle and Katie Rabe. He is survived by his present wife, Patricia Ann (Hawkins-Lessard); and four step-children; Laureli Lessard and her husband, Robert Knowles of North Monmouth, ME; Peter R. Lessard and his wife, Lori (Camaioni), of Cottageville, S C; Barbara L., and her husband, James Dinger of Sugar Grove, OH; Stephanie J., and her husband, Michael Huntsman of Shelley, ID. Add to that six step-grandchildren, Mary K. Lessard-Caswell, Montana Lessard, Kayleigh, Keegan, Kamden, and Karissa Huntsman and 10 great grandchildren.
There will be no visiting hours. A celebration of life will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints Hasson St. Farmingdale, Maine, on January 7, 2012 at 1pm. Burial will take place at a later date in the family plot in Madison, Maine.

Daniel Lynn Mast
MAST, Daniel Lynn, formerly of Springfield, Ohio passed away December 19, 2011 at his home in Topsham, Maine. He was born May 7, 1941 in Springfield the son of Kenneth and Constance (Cummings) Mast. He was a supervisor at Navistar International Harvester Company in Springfield. After retirement he started a photography studio specializing in senior portraits. In September 1996 he and his wife moved to Boothbay, Maine where they resided until June 2008 when they relocated to Topsham, Maine. He is survived by his wife Ruby, Kristin and Gary Jenkins, Barbara and Paul Baier, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and many beloved friends. Robert L. Stevenson III
Richmond-Robert L. Stevenson III, 59, of the Langdon Rd., passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at his home with his family by his side.
Bob (Robby) was born on April 12, 1952 the son of Robert L. Stevenson and Sandy (Lent) Stevenson in Chicago, Illinois and attended local schools.
Bob (Robby) proudly served his country in the United States Navy retiring in 1992 as a Master Chief after 23 years. Bob (Robby) later worked for over 17 years at Bath Iron Works as an instructor.
He was a longtime member of Village Lodge #26 in Bowdoinham, serving for many years as the secretary.
Bob (Robby) enjoyed reading, fishing and traveling but most of all he loved his wife Pat very much.
Bob (Robby) was predeceased by his parents and a brother in-law Nick Esposito. He is survived by his wife Patricia Stevenson of Richmond, daughters Jennifer (Stevenson) Hutchings and her husband Shane of Richmond, Sascha Stevenson of San Diego, California, grandchildren Finley Hutchings and Sage Murray all of whom he loved dearly. He has five 5 siblings, Linda Esposito of Brookfield, IL, William Stevenson of Summit,IL, Sandy Wloszek and her husband Rich of Glen Ellyn, IL, Kathie Niday of Park Falls, WI., Casey Stevenson and his wife Nanette of Tinley Park, IL., Robby is also leaving behind many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, December 19th from 4 to 7pm at Kincer Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, December 20th at 10am at St. Ambrose Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, Richmond. Harriet Keith Furman Rice
Bowoionham-Harriet Keith Furman Rice passed peacefully at home Dec 9, 2011 from the effects of cancer.
Keith (as she was known to everyone) was born in Edgefield, South Carolina on 13 August 1947 to Thomas DeSaussure Furman and Harriet Adams Mims Furman. Keith grew up in Gainesville, Florida where her father was a professor at the University of Florida. She attended elementary and high school in Gainesville. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Lander College in Greenwood, SC and a Bachelor of Science in Land Surveying from the University of Florida. While at the University of Florida, she met Chester A. Rice, a Naval Officer. They were married on 23 February 1980 at her parent’s home in Gainesville. The two shared a wonderful life together both in the Navy and later after Chester’s retirement in 1998 when Maine became home. They lived in exciting places, traveled to even more, and Keith made lifelong friends wherever she went. Her friends describe their love for her with comments such as: “we have been friends in sunshine and shade”, “an absolute jewel in the crown”, “a wonderful source of joy and inspiration”, “easy to admire, I am lucky to have known you”, “a friend who loves at all times”, “a loyal and loving sister”. She kept a few favorite quotes on her dresser from Randy Pausch, an inspirational Carnegie Mellon professor, who died of pancreatic cancer in 2008: “Always Have Fun, Dream Big, Ask For What You Want, Dare To Take A Risk, Look For The Best In Everybody, Make Time For What Matters”. A bright and good light has gone from our lives. Anyone who knew Keith was the better for having the opportunity to know her. Keith was a marvelous cook, enjoyed entertaining, loved to sew and quilt, enjoyed her gardens, an avid reader, and enjoyed Sudoku puzzles. She was a member of the local chapter of G.R.I.T.S (Girls Raised in the South), life member of the Navy League, and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Keith is survived by her husband, Chester of Bowdoinham, Maine, her brother Thomas DeSaussure Furman, Jr. and family of Concord, MA, her sister Susan F. Kohout and family of Clemson, SC and her brother Richard Adams Furman and family of Gainesville, FL. Keith’s ashes will be scattered on the grounds of her beloved ‘forever house’, Serenity, in Bowdoinham, home since 2009 and on Merrymeeting Bay which she fell in love with when she and Chester were stationed at the former Naval Air Station, Brunswick, Maine in the early 1980’s. A celebration of Keith’s life, in lieu of a church service, will be scheduled at an appropriate date after the New Year. Keith would be honored to have you support with your resources, either volunteer time or money, the hospice services provided by Chans Homehealthcare of Brunswick (www.chanshomehealthcare.com), who provided such attentive professional palliative care. John Silas Ackley
Bowdoinham-John Ackley, 73, passed away at home after a long illness on Dec. 12, 2011.
He was born June 22, 1938, the son of George and M. Evelyn Ackley.
A lifelong resident of Bowdoinham, he attended Bowdoinham schools and served with the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1962 which included a tour of duty in Korea. He was a Past Master and 43 year member of Village Lodge # 26., A.F.&A.M.
He worked with his father in the contracting business for many years before joining the Sagadahoc Sheriff Dept in 1978 where he served as a Deputy Sheriff and Chief Deputy until his retirement in 2000.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping in the Moosehead Lake region.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Marlene Ackley; a son, Scott Ackley and wife, Stephanie, of Freeport; a step-son, Larry Young and wife, Rose, of Bowdoin; a step-daughter, Holly Fournier and husband, Tom, of Bowdoinham; a grandson, Joshua Ackley; a granddaughter, Mackenzie Ackley; a brother, Robert Ackley, and wife Anne of Topsham; a nephew, Michael Ackley, of Topsham; 5 step-grandchildren, Jennifer Wienckowski, Michelle Keleher, and Angela Caldwell of Bowdoin; Marcie Fournier of Boston; and Seth Fournier of Biddeford; 4 step-great-grandchildren, Taylor, Hayden, Tarynn, and Sidney and several cousins.
The family would like to thank friends, family, Dr.John McGeough, Dr. David Benton, Midcoast Hospital, Bodwell Rehab, and CHANS Hospice and Private Duty Home Health Care for their care and support.

Lydia Vega Sawczyc
RICHMOND -- Lydia Vega Sawczyc, 88, a longtime resident of Richmond, died on Dec. 5, 2011, after a short illness. Lydia was born June 17, 1923, and grew up in the city of Vigo, Spain. As a young woman, she moved to Venezuela, where she met her "American family," Charles and Phoebe Reeves and their parents, Polly and Bruce. With them, Lydia came to the United States in 1966, where she first lived in Washington, D.C., and then moved to Richmond, where she met and married her husband, Ivan Sawczyc.
Lydia and Ivan soon became American citizens. They were extraordinary and creative farmers for many years. They combined Lydia's Spanish farming and cooking skills with Ivan's Russian traditions. They raised chickens, pigs, sheep and smoked their own hams. They grew many crops, from potatoes and garlic to wheat and barley. They played in a Balalika orchestra, were enthusiastic carpenters, attended English classes at the high school and attended the Russian Orthodox and Catholic churches in Richmond.
Before and after the death of her husband 15 years ago, Lydia continued to increase her wide circle of friends as she worked tirelessly on a number of projects in Richmond, such as the establishment of the Richmond Health Center and developing resources for senior citizens. She was interested in politics and was a devoted Democratic voter. She regularly worked at the polls in Richmond. She was widely known for her wonderful cooking, which often included traditional Spanish dishes such as tortilla, empanada, paella and pan de Pascua. Lydia cooked for suppers to raise funds and for meals for Richmond's shut-in seniors. Over the years, she was good friends with many elderly residents of Richmond and helped them when they became disabled. Lydia often said that she especially loved old people and children. She regularly cooked delicious dinners on holidays and other occasions for her friends of all ages.
She kept in close touch with her family in Spain and visited Vigo often. Her cousin, Delores Villar Vega of Vigo, Spain, was staying with her when she had her final illness.
Lydia is survived by her large Spanish family and her loving friends here in Maine, many of whom had taken turns keeping a 24-hour watch by her hospital bedside during her last illness.
Funeral arrangements will be handled by Kincer Funeral Home in Richmond. There will be a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 13, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Richmond, with burial to follow. There will be a reception after the burial at Lydia's home on Langdon Road in Richmond. Visiting hours will be from 2 to 5 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 12, at Kincer Funeral Home in Richmond.
Bruce J. Kinney
ROCKLAND - Bruce James Kinney, a resident of the Highlands, Topsham, passed away November 24, 2011, family at his side, as the result of a fall. Bruce was born to Frank and Amby (Mahar) Kinney in Brookton, Maine on July 29, 1918, the eighth of ten children. He graduated from Ricker Classical Institute in Houlton, attended University of Maine at Presque Isle and received his Masters degree in Education from the University of Maine at Orono. Bruce taught school in Ashland, Princeton and Carroll prior to enlisting in the Army Air Force where he was a Gunnery Instructor in the Pacific. He particularly enjoyed the Japanese people he met while stationed in post-war Japan. Returning to Maine in 1947, Bruce taught in South Paris before being hired as Superintendent of Schools in Dixfield, the youngest in the State at that time. He served in that capacity for 5 years before being named Superintendent of Schools for Rockland, Rockport and Matinicus in 1954. During his 25 year tenure, he oversaw the formation of SAD #5 and the construction of a new regional high school. Following his retirement from SAD #5, Bruce spent nine years as State Director of Migrant Education, a position which allowed him to connect more closely with students. Bruce was involved in numerous community activities. He was a long-time member of the Rockland Rotary Club and was elected President in 1960. Like so many Rockland area residents, he volunteered at the Lobster Festival and was once the parade Grand Marshal. He served on the Rockland City Council including a year as Mayor in 1981 - 82. As a visitor at the Methodist Center, he helped establish Coastal Trans. This, in turn, prompted Bruce to volunteer with AARP as a tax preparation aide, an ombudsman at Seven Tree Manor, the legislative advocacy committee chairperson, and a driver safety training instructor. He commanded instant attention when his students learned he was 85! In 2007, he received the prestigious Maine AARP Andrus Award for his volunteer leadership. Bruce returned to the classroom several years ago as a volunteer in the Kindergarten class taught by his daughter Jo at South End School, Rockland. He was honored for his volunteer work by his beloved Knox County Retired Teachers Association in 2009.
Bruce married Alice Smith in Machias on October 1, 1948. They have five children and ten grandchildren. Bruce and Alice spent 15 winters traveling in their motor home covering the 48 states in the lower USA. Summers were spent at camp on Chickawaukee Lake, Rockport where they hosted many family gatherings. In addition to their vacations in Hawaii, Alaska, Canada and the Caribbean, Bruce and Alice enjoyed family vacations at Disney World and European river cruises on the Rhine, Rhone, Danube and Seine. Bruce is survived by Alice, his wife of 63 years, and his five children: Carol (and Stephen) Harris of Topsham; Susan Kinney (and Steven Boileau) of Mansfield, MA; Kathleen (and Kip) Cleaver of Acton, MA; Jo (and Loy) Linscott III of Rockland, and David (and Michelle Brown) Kinney of Lincolnville Center. His ten grandchildren brought him great joy: Elizabeth Harris (and Kelly) Hoffman, of Portland; Jennifer Harris of Arlington, VA; Max Boileau Kinney of Mansfield, MA; Jana Richardson of Washington, DC; Kyle Richardson of Seattle, WA; Bruce and Sara Cleaver of Lexington, MA; Danielle Linscott of Rockland; and Isabella and Maren Kinney of Lincolnville Center. He also leaves a sister, Margaret Watts of Conowingo, MD. Among his many nephews and nieces is Donald Crandlemire who, with his wife Marilyn, was a neighbor at the Highlands. Bruce was pre-deceased by his brothers Max, Robert and Lloyd Kinney, and sisters Irene Walls, Nina Wood, Lily Crandlemire, Gladys Hall, and Jean Riley. A private celebration of life will be held. JOHN P. McMANUS
Freeport - John P. McManus, 49, passed away on November 14, 2011 after a brief illness.
He was born in Panama City, Florida, the Son of Nathan Davis and Doris Davis.
John grew up in Freeport-Pownal and graduated from Freeport High School.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, hunting, fishing and lived and laughed right to the end.
John was predeceased by his father Nate Davis and is survived by his mother, Doris Davis, brothers Tim McManus of Topsham, Gordon McManus of Cape Code and sisters Debbie and Rick Jones of W. Gardiner, Carolyn and Tim Davis-Mayo of Topsham, Shirley Estes and Devin of Manchester; nieces Danielle, Heather, Julie, and Trish; nephews Bobby, Cory and Scotty.
The family would like to thank Mercy Oncology Center and the VNA Hospice for all their terrific care and support. A private service for family and close friends to be announced at a later date.
James “Shadow” A. Porter Sr.
Bowdoinham-James A. Porter Sr., 68, of the White Rd. died on Monday, November 7, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born on May 10, 1943 in Gray the son of Norman and Lucy Porter.
Jim proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam era. Jim owned and operated his own plumbing and heating service and later his own truck driving business.
Jim enjoyed having an active social life, being involved with the American Legion, VFW, Eagles and Elks. He was also generous with cancer fund raising efforts and veteran services. He was a member of the Topsham American Legion Post 202, VFW, Eagles and Brunswick Elks Club.
Jim was predeceased by his parents and his wife Doreen Porter. He is survived by his son James Jr. and his wife Martha of Bowdoinham, daughter Ann Smith and her Husband Jason of Connecticut, brother Ken Porter and his wife Evelyn of Bowdoinham, sister Helen Low of South Carolina, grandchildren Michael Porter of Bowdoinham and Jessica Beaulieu of Brunswick, many nieces and Nephews.
Family and friends are invited to a graveside service on Friday, November 11th at 11am at Bay view cemetery in Bowdoinham with military honors. Following the service a celebration of his life will take place at the Topsham American Legion Post 202 on the Foreside Rd.

Gary L. Frizzle
Bowdoinham-Gary L. Frizzle, 47, of the Cemetery Rd. passed away after a long illness on Monday, October 31, 2011 at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick.
He was born on December 15, 1963 in Brunswick the son of Gordon and Akemi Frizzle.
Gary proudly served his country in the United States Army. He later worked for Bath Iron Works for over 22 years. Gary enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends.
He was predeceased by his grandfather Allen Frizzle. Gary is survived by his parents, his wife of 24 years Elizabeth Frizzle of Bowdoinham, daughters Heather Delodge and her husband Bruce of Lisbon Falls, Samantha Frizzle of Richmond, K.C. Frizzle of Bowdoinham, Nichole Frizzle of Bowdoinham, sister Naomi Wallace and her husband David of Bowdoinham, twin brother Tobey Frizzle of Bowdoinham and his significant other Jolene Cunningham, grandmother Olive Frizzle, 3 grandchildren, uncle Allen and Pop Frizzle, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ernest “Ernie” C. Savage
Bowdoinham-Ernest C. Savage, 67, of the White Rd. and formerly Richmond died unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick.
He was born in Richmond on December 15, 1943 the son of Donald and Hazel Savage.
Ernie worked for Bath Iron Works Hardings Plant for over 30 years as a ship fitter. He was also a member of the Richmond Volunteer Fire Department for over 32 years.
Ernie enjoyed wood working, being a member and director of the Litchfield fair, yard work, haying with Dick Brown and especially being with his children and grandchildren
Ernie was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 31 years Judy Savage of Bowdoinham, daughters Patricia Hurley and husband Mark of Bowdoinham, Laurie Carver and husband Bruce of Richmond, Tracie Anair and husband Bob of Richmond, son Don Savage and his wife Theetra of Richmond, sister Linda LeMont of Eustis, grandchildren Brittni Carver, Gregory Hurley, B J Carver, Ashley Hurley, Ben Carver, Jessica Anair, Kelsea Anair, Ella Grace Savage and special friends Jim and Jane Welch of Topsham, Frank Pottle of Topsham, Eleanor Jones of Richmond and many other friends.
A memorial visitation will take place on Friday, October 28th from noon to 1pm with a funeral service taking place at 1pm all at the funeral home. A burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Richmond.

Wilford E. Rice
Woolwich-Wilford E. Rice, 78, of the Middle Rd. in Woolwich died on October 26, 2011 at the Hospice Palliative Care Unit, Togus.
He was born on June 28, 1933 in San Antonio, TX the son of Linnie and Anita Rice.
Will proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, retiring in 1973 as a Master Sergeant.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, collecting antiques, his two dogs Cassie and Toby and particularly time spent with family. Will was a member of Richmond Post 132 American Legion, DAV, AMVETS and the Bath VFW.
Will was predeceased by his parents, brothers Milford and Early Rice. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Sherry Rice of Woolwich, sons Roger W. Helen B. Robinson
BRUNSWICK — Helen B. Robinson, 91, of Pejepscot Terrace died on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at Parkview Hospital, Brunswick.
She was born on July 18, 1920 in Vermont the daughter of Mervin Bates and Doris Grout Bates.
Helen was a member of the First Baptist Church, Concord, New Hampshire, taught children of all ages God's word. She was an active supporter of Child Evangelism Fellowship in California, Vermont and New Hampshire.
She enjoyed talking about her wonderful Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Helen also enjoyed reading, watching Television and family events.
Helen supported the war effort at home by working in defense plants in the Springfield Vermont area as well as different shoe factories in Southern Vermont.
She was predeceased by her son William Frank Robinson of Raleigh, North Carolina.
She is survived by her daughter Edith A. Worth and her husband Frederick Worth Jr., of Brunswick.

Woolwich-Deborah Ann Kloberdans, 59, of Woolwich, died on October 8, 201 1 at home after a long battle with cancer
Deborah was born August 9, 1952 in Bath, Maine to Sterling L. & Marjorie N. Leach.
She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and the National Society United States Daughters of 1812..
Deborah enjoyed doing Family Genealogy Research and Antiquing as well as collecting figurines. She worked in the financial institution field and was well respected as a professional in her field of expertise.
She was predeceased by her parents and by her daughter Natalie Ann Kloberdans. She is survived by her husband David A. Kloberdans of Woolwich, her Son Rodney S. Kloberdans and his wife Tessa Kingsley of Bowdoinham and three Grandchildren, Sterling Kloberdans, Royal Kloberdans and Molly Kloberdans of Bowdoinham.

Bowdoinham-Doris P. Messer, 75, of the Ridge Road died on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at her home.
She was born in Bath on August 28, 1936 the daughter of Alphonso and Dorothy Cookson.
Doris enjoyed spending time with family, particularly grandchildren, cook, going to the ocean, window shopping and crocheting.
She was predeceased by her parents.
Doris is survived by her son Patrick Alexander Sr., of West Bath, Step son William Messer and wife Sandy of Gardiner, daughters Pauline Gray and her companion Horace of Lewiston, Lynn Alexander of Bowdoinham, Gail Billington and her companion Allie Vigue of Bowdoinham/Gardiner, Lydia Williams and her husband Jeremy Williams of Readfield, like a son to her Richard Gray of Bowdoinham, several other step children, 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and several step great grandchildren.

Alice May Haskell Trussell
Augusta-Alice May Haskell Trussell, 93, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011 at Maine General Hospital.
She was born August 25, 1918 in South Brooksville, Maine the daughter of Carrie Haskell, (Gray/Hutchins) and Lyman Haskell.
Earlier years Alice lived on Little Deer Isle, later she baked at the Augusta House, cooked in restaurants in Maine, served in Women’s Army Corp, and then settled on a farm in Dresden as wife of Samuel Trussell. They were married for 58 years. Besides raising a family, Alice also cared for foster children in her home as well as baking bread for a summer roadside stand and the first to donate a pot of beans to a worthy cause. She will be remembered for hosting Good News Clubs for children in her home, teaching the children the Word of God and sharing her faith in Christ. As a member of the local church she loved to sing in the choir. She is noted for her cheerful spirit and her appreciation for life. She leaves a spiritual heritage that will not be forgotten.
Alice was predeceased by her husband Samuel Trussell, sisters Martha, Frances, brothers Burton and Steven, and son-in-law Gerald Rackliff.
She is survived by her daughters Sharon Rackliff of Dresden; Linda Parks of Pittston, Cheryl Bruno and husband Paul of Union; Beverly Acord and husband Michael of Pittston; son Michael Trussell and wife Maureen of Waterville, grandchildren, Kathy Buechler, and husband Ken, Scott Rackliff, Holly Chapman, Benjamin Bruno and wife Kim, Rebecca Bruno, Anna Farley and husband Scott, Abigail Grossen and husband Kevin, Isaac Bruno and wife Hannah, Jeremy Acord and wife Linh, Nathan Acord, Zoey and Kaylyn Trussell and Great grandchildren 11.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 7th at 2 pm at graveside in Forest Hill Cemetery, Dresden with military honors.

Sylvia M. Ashby
Auburn-Sylvia M. Ashby, 77, of Bolster Heights Care Facility in Auburn for the past eight years went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 26, 2011 at Central Maine Medical Center.
She was born in Richmond on January 4, 1934 the daughter of John and Harriett Grover Bixby.
Sylvia attended Richmond Schools and later received her diploma in 1990 from Oxford Hills High School.
In 1964 she married Stanley Ashby and they traveled as missionaries to Costa Rica and Ecuador.
Sylvia received the rank of Lt. Colonel from the National-International Rescue Mission and was also an ordained minister holding the same rank.
Sylvia is survived by a sister, Donna Rowe and her husband Lloyd of Norway, brother John F. Bixby Jr., and his wife Susan of South Paris, nieces, nephews, great nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her parents, husband and brother Elden McKee.

CLIFTON MARSHALL TOOTHAKER, 'JR.'
Clifton Marshall Toothaker Jr., 88, beloved son of the late Clifton Marshall Sr. and the late Bessie Clark Toothaker, passed away last Friday Sept. 23, 2011, at 9:30 p.m. at the Augusta Rehabilitation Center, a Kindred Healthcare Facility, 188 Eastern Ave., Augusta, Maine. He was born on Oct. 1, 1922, in the family homestead at Richmond, Maine. He was also the beloved brother to the late Christine Toothaker Patrick and brotherin-law to her late husband, Frances M. Patrick of Hallowell, and is survived by his only living sister, Hilda Louise Toothaker Brooks, wife of the late Donald E. Brooks Jr., brother-in-law from Farmingdale. He was the beloved uncle to Christine's and Pat's daughter, Nancy Patrick Skidgel and her husband, Wendell Skidgel of Richmond. He was married to and divorced from the late Mona M. Hixon, of Jefferson, the beloved father and mother of Anne Louise Toothaker, also of Jefferson. Clifton Jr. graduated from Richmond High School in 1939, and in 1941 enlisted in the United States Coast Guard and was stationed at Bath Iron
Works, having the rank of Chief Boatman Mate/Patrol Guard, a job that took calls from the towers during World War II, and he was also on a destroyer. He was discharged at the age of 25 in 1945. Clif also owned and operated two heavy construction vehicle trucks for a living. In the 60s, he won a trophy from Duro, Inc., for being the year's top salesman for home sidewall and aluminum applications. He then ran his own Home Improvements business for 25 years. He was noted for his indomitable spirit, Toothaker wit and courage of his convictions and had been a lifelong independent Free Mason out of Bethlehem Masonic Lodge of Augusta, Maine. He was foremost a Mason, but also a Christian believer. His intelligence will be sorely missed and remembered by all in East Central Maine. A graveside service will be held Friday at the Toothaker family plot at the Litchfield Plains Cemetery starting promptly at 11 a.m. The Rev. Don Davenport and the Free Masons will officiate. All are welcome to come and attend.

Stacy Daniel Trask
Gardiner-Stacy Daniel Trask, 28, of Winter St. died unexpectedly on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at his home.
He was born on October 16, 1982 in Augusta the son of Daniel and Priscilla Trask.
Stacy was a shift leader at Dunkin Donuts on Sewall St.
He was also a member of Post 132 SAL in Richmond for 18 years.
Stacy was an avid pool player at Gardiner Eagles Club.
Stacy is survived by his parents Daniel and Priscilla Trask of Richmond, sons Adam Trask of Gardiner, Sevin Trask of Richmond, daughter Savannah Trask, brother Paul Pinkham and fiancée Diane Ellison, sister Jenny Trask and friend Ben Tremain of Bowdoinham, nieces Makayla, Victoria, Morgan and Kimberly, several uncles, aunts, cousins and lots of friends.
He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

David E. Crockett III
BRUNSWICK — David E. Crockett III, 78, of Brunswick died Tuesday, August 30, 2011 with his family by his side, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
David was born on April 9th, 1933 in Camden to David E. Crockett II and Muriel Herrick Crockett. He attended Camden and Rockport schools and graduated from Camden High School in 1951. He earned degree’s in History and Government from the University of Maine in 1955. He also attended Colby and Bowdoin College and received his Masters in Math and Science. While in college he was commissioned in the Army ROTC, and later served eight and a half years in the Army Reserve.
In 1955, he began his teaching career at New Sharon High School. He taught at Wilton Academy in 1958 where he met his wife of 51 years, Barbara Crockett. In 1963, they moved to Brunswick, and David taught at Brunswick High School until he retired in 1984. After retirement, David worked for LL Bean where he was able to share his passion of hunting, fishing and camping.
David was a life long learner and continued to take classes throughout his life. He was particularly interested in history and ancient religion. He enjoyed golf, fishing and spending time with his family.
He leaves his wife of 51 years, Barbara Babb Crockett, 2 daughters, Rebecca Launer and her husband Phil Launer, Allyson Crockett and her husband Paul Barron from Brunswick, a brother, Neil Welt and his wife Connie of Denver, CO and 3 grandchildren, Zoe Launer age11, Claire Launer age 8 and Julia Barron age 7. He will be sadly missed.

Arthur E. Selig
Arthur E. (Bud) Selig, 84, of Damariscotta died at home on September 11th of complications of Parkinson’s Disease. He was born in Pueblo, CO on Nov 9, 1926 to Cecil (Sternburg) and Joseph C. Selig. He enlisted in the Navy on his 17th birthday and served in the Pacific during WWII. After an honorable discharge, he earned his GED, and then a forestry degree from U Mass Amherst through the GI program. In 1974 Bud and Iris (Tobin) were married and spent time in Israel working on kibbutz. He also worked for the Jewish National Fund as a forester. Early on Bud sold lumber, musical instruments, and real estate, then worked outdoors as a carpenter and house painter. Upon his retirement in 1991 Bud & Iris moved to Damariscotta, and he achieved his dream of working in his own small wood lot, clearing, sustaining, and improving it and their old house. He was active in the Ban Clear-Cutting Movement due to his love of the Maine forests. Over the years they delighted in the company of three Airedales and a Wheaten Terrier. Bud loved picking wild blueberries, raspberries and apples, baking pies and bread, making cider, canoeing, skipping rocks, playing guitar, and listening to classical music. He is survived by his wife Iris; his son Daniel, wife Sarah Spademan, and grandson Gabriel; daughters Heidi Selig and Tammy Selig; and sister Alexia Hayes. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, September 16th at 12:00 noon at the Selig home at 532 Egypt Road, Damariscotta, with lunch and visiting until 4:30 PM; visiting also Thursday from 2-4 PM. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Jewish National Fund or the Parkinson’s Association.
Linda Lee LeClair
Linda Lee LeClair, 56 of Richmond, Maine, passed away September 3, 2011, at home peacefully. She was born November 23, 1954, in Portland Maine, the daughter of Ann and the late Harry LeClair. She was the oldest of 3 siblings. She graduated from Freeport High in 1973. She worked for many years at L.L. Bean and at her passing was working for the Progressive Housing Association in Richmond, Maine which provided Residential Care Homes for Adults with special needs. Linda was an excellent cook and a wonderful mother. She enjoyed spending her free time reading, fishing and being with friends and family. Linda is survived by her son Noel Newell of Durham, ME; daughter Danielle Ricca of Windham, ME; daughter Molly Harvey of Richmond, ME; son Charles Leonard of Richmond, ME; Mother, Ann LeClair of Brunswick ME; brother, Daniel LeClair of Bowdoin, ME; sister Kelley Goodwin of Bowdoin, ME. Richmond-Shane M. Beckim, 21, of the Brown Rd. passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 5, 2011.
He was born on October 30, 1989 the son of Carl Beckim Jr.
Shane enjoyed baseball particularly the Yankee’s, soccer, snowboarding, hunting and fishing.
He was survived his father Carl Beckim Jr., of Richmond, sister Samantha Beckim of Chelsea, brothers Carl Beckim III of Richmond, Cameron Beckim of Waldoboro, grandparents Andree and Carl Beckim of Richmond, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and very special friend Dotti.

BATH — Anne S. Pelkey, 87, of The Plant Home in Bath and formerly of Millinocket went home on August 11, 2011. Anne was born January 15, 1924 in Woodstock New Brunswick. Canada.
After meeting and Marrying Archie Pelkey they moved to Millinocket in 1944 where they raised their family. Anne was a member of the Millinocket Baptist Church.
Anne is survived by her children, Bonnie (Yvonne) Jarrard of Manchester, NH, David L. Pelkey of Millinocket, Dotti Pelletier and husband Darrell of Brunswick and Dennis A. Pelkey of Brewer, Maine, 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 2 great great granddaughters, sister Jenny Crandall of Raynham, Mass., brothers Peter Cullinen and wife Alice and Roy Cullinen all of Oakfield, Maine, very special Aunt Lucille Appleby of Portland, Maine. She was predeceased by her husband Archie in 2008, son Kenneth in 1970, daughter Cheryl in 1956, brother Christie in 1998 and sister Mary Clements in 2007. Anne was very proud that she was a grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother to twins.
A very special thank you to the staff at the Plant Home and Chans Hospice of the Mid Coast area for the care given to our mother. They all made it a very comfortable and loving journey to her heavenly home. John F. Taylor
Bath-CHIEF PETTY OFFICER, RET. JOHN F. TAYLOR passed away on Aug. 3, 2011 after a long illness.
Chief Taylor joined the U.S. Navy on July 10, 1945, serving at NAS Opaloca, Florida. On 1 Aug. 1946 received an honorable discharge remaining in a reserve status until Nov. 1951. His first duty was aboard the USS Kirkpatrick (DER 318), and then in Dec. 1953 served with the US Navy Rhine River Patrol, Germany where he remained until 10 Dec. 1955, being transferred to the USS SIBONEY (CVE 112). From there was transferred to U.S. Naval Facility, San Salvador, BWI in 1956 then to U.S. Naval Facility, Cape May, New Jersey. After Cape May was assigned to Class "C" Teletype School. Upon completion of Teletype School was sent to U.S. Naval Station Argentia, Newfoundland from there in 1960 to US Naval War College Newport, Rhode Island. Then on 15 October 1963 was assigned to Class B Radioman school at Bainbridge, Maryland, after completion of school was assigned to the USS William H. Standley (DLG 32) at Bath Maine. From the USS WILLIAM H. STANDLEY to the U.S. Naval Facility, Ramey Air Force Base, Puerto Rico. Then in October 1968 to the Naval Air Station, Brunswick, Maine. On 1 September 1970 Transferred into the fleet reserve with an honorable discharge.
Chief Taylor was born in Litchfield, Illinois to George W. and Helena Taylor. He attended the local schools in Litchfield, Illinois until enlisting in the U.S. Navy. He has been a member of the Fleet Reserve Assoc. for over 40 years. In 1968, he married Janice Sylvester of Brunswick, Maine in Mayport, Florida. In 1971 he opened the Taylor Shop of Dog grooming in Brunswick, Maine.
He is preceded in death by his wife Janice Taylor, step son Robert L. Deaton, Brothers George J. And William W. Taylor, sisters Marjory Jensen and Ruth Penticoff. Surviving are grandsons, James A. Deaton of Gardiner, Me and family, Daniel R. Deaton of St. Petersburg, FL, brother Robert L. Taylor of Wyoming, MN., numerous nieces and nephews.

Ruth Eleanor (Atkins) Crosman
Augusta - Ruth Crosman passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, July 27th, at the Maine General Hospital in Augusta.
Ruth was born on 21 May 1925, the daughter of Ernest and Minnie Atkins. She attended school in Topsham and graduated from Brunswick High School. She resided on the Middlesex Road in Topsham until 1945 when she and her husband and son moved to the Tedford Road. She remained there even after her husband's death in 2000 and eventually had an apartment built onto her son's house in Richmond and moved there in 2004.
Ruth was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Forest" JR" Crosman; sister Margaret "Maggie" Smith; sister Dorothy Coombs; and sister Evelyn Marriner. She is survived by son, Richard Crosman of Richmond; brother Ernest Atkins, Jr. of Phoenix, Arizona; sister Betty Andrews McNary of Topsham; granddaughter Kimberly Quirion and husband of Randolph; granddaughter Kari Crosman of Richmond; great-grandchildren Rachel and Tyler Quirion of Randolph and Justin Crosman of Richmond. In her early years Ruth was a waitress in Brunswick restaurants and then went to work as a secretary in the ROTC office at Bowdoin College and finished her career there as a secretary within the Senior Center. Looking for a "working change" she went to work as a clerk/secretary at the newly opened Mt. Ararat High School where she stayed until retirement. Upon retiring she and Forest loved to go camping and went from a smaller camper to a larger one to a fifth wheel and then to an RV which they loved to drive around town as well as take camping. They loved sitting around different campfires, meeting folks and just talking and listening to music. She was an avid reader who also enjoyed hobbies like snowmobiling, playing cards with friends and lots of BINGO games!!
Ruth eventually required some assisted living and enjoyed residing at 56 Elm Street where her sister "Dot" also resided. When she required more assistance she resided at the Maine General Rehabilitation and Nursing Care Facility in Gardiner. Her last stay was at "Glen ridge" in Augusta and this is where she met many new folks and was really enjoying her stay there.
Ruth always expressed how much she enjoyed residing at Glenridge and felt she was well cared for and where "there is always something going on." The last day Ruth was with us she had just enjoyed a two hour outdoor and festive barbecue that was put on by the staff.
The family would like to thank the dedicated caregivers in Gardiner and Augusta for the care and understanding that was always shown to Ruth. All of you were greatly appreciated.
Ruth will be buried in the Rogers Cemetery in Topsham.
A luncheon will be held at the American Legion Hall, Carding Machine Road, Richmond from 11:30 AM to 1 PM Wednesday, August 3rd. After the luncheon there will be a funeral service at Kincer Funeral Home in Richmond, 130 Pleasant Street at 1:15 PM.
After the service those that wish to drive to the Rogers Cemetery in Topsham for a short graveside service are welcome.

Charles E. Caton
AUGUSTA – Charles E. Caton, 81, long time resident of Wiscasset, died on July 26th, 2011 at the Maine Veterans Home.
He was born on June 14th, 1930 in Wiscasset, the son of Maurice and Sadie (Leeman) Caton.
Charles attended Wiscasset schools. After High School he drilled wells for a couple of years before joining the U.S. Navy from 1951 till 1955. He married June French on June 21st, 1954.
He worked for several years doing construction and then went on to work as a truck driver for M.W. Sewall and Co., retiring after 35 years.
Charles was a member of the Wiscasset American Legion for 51 years; S.A.M.; and Wiscasset Rod and Gun Club.
He enjoyed spending time with his friends, family, and especially his grandchildren.
Charles is survived by his beloved wife June Caton; daughters Terrie Caton Banker, Linda Caton Thompson, both of Wiscasset; grandchildren Michael Thompson and his wife Heidi of Richmond, Jason Banker of Augusta, Jamie Wade and her husband Rob of Vassalboro; Kacy Banker and her husband Clint Gold of Wiscasset; great-grandchildren Hannahmarie Caton Thompson of Richmond, Alana Emery Wade of Vassalboro; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers Maurice Jr., Alton; sisters Virginia, Eleanor, Doris; and an infant son at birth.

Leland S. Smith
LEWISTON – Leland ‘Lee’ S. Smith, 62, of Litchfield, died on July 24th, 2011 at Central Maine Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on November 8th, 1948 in Richmond, the son of Leland and Carrie (Johnson) Smith.
Lee attended Richmond Schools and then went on to join the U.S. Army.
He married Vivian Thebeau on July 30th, 1968 and she was the love of his life, battles and all. Prior to being long time residents of Litchfield they had lived in CA., NH., and Las Vegas, NV.
Lee worked as a worm digger, worked in the woods with his father, worked in Bates Mill, he also owned his own janitorial business, but the place he called home was when he was a poker dealer in Las Vegas, NV., and upon moving back to Maine he opened his own pool hall called Lee’s Billiards and Arcade in Litchfield.
He was lifetime member of the Lisbon V.F.W. Post 9459.
Lee is survived by his beloved wife Vivian; his parents; sons Ronald Smith and wife Jody of Jacksonville, Fl., Young Lee Smith of Litchfield; and daughter Michelle Smith of Litchfield; grandchildren Jessie, Stephanie Smith of Fl., Sheri Barrett of ME., Steven, Dustyn Griffin of Morbly, Missouri; sisters Deborah Howe and husband Bobby, Elena Carter and husband Mark both of Richmond, ME, Lori Demers and husband Lance of Fl.; cat Mad Max; dog Krist; and many loved ones.
Lee loved his family first and poker second.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, July 26th, from 4 PM to 6 PM at Kincer Funeral Home, 130 Pleasant Street, Richmond. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at the Funeral Home at 4 PM with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Alexander Reed Road, Richmond. Rev. Roger Merrill will be officiating. Hubert “Hugh” W. Adams
Hallowell-Hubert W. Adams, 94, of Hallowell and formerly Richmond, died on July 14, 2011 at Maine Veterans Home, Augusta.
He was born on May 7, 1917 in Woodsville, N.H. the son of Willis and Marion Adams. He attended Dover New Hampshire Schools and also Wentworth Institute of Technology, graduating class of 1938.
Hugh proudly served his country in the Army Air Corp during WWII. He was a member of the Richmond American Legion and Village lodge 26 Masons of Bowdoinham.
He worked as an electrical engineer for over 31 years at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.
Hugh was very versatile and he had many interests; including wood working, bee keeping, photography and metal detecting to name a few.
Hugh was predeceased by his parents, brother Francis Adams, sisters Barbara Larrabee, Eleanor Lance, and Helen Frost. He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years Marjorie Adams of Hallowell, daughter Betty Ann Stubbs and her husband Robert of Moneta, Virginia, son Hugh Adams of Dover, New Hampshire, brother John Adams and his wife Laura of Dover, New Hampshire, Step daughter Janice Ashcroft and her husband Richard of Richmond, 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, one step grandson, several nieces and nephews.
Per Hugh’s request there will not be a viewing. Family and friends are invited to a graveside service on Saturday, July 23rd at 2pm at Forest Hill Cemetery, Dresden with military honors.

Winburn "Chuck" Cram, Jr.
Buxton-After a life of faithful service to his Lord, Winburn “Chuck” Cram, Jr. awoke in glory to meet Him face to face on Sunday morning, July 10, 2011.
Born February 23, 1939, in Portland, Maine to Winburn, Sr. and Marion Tibbetts Cram, he lived a life of service, not only to the Lord, but, constrained by his love for Him, he also served others. Chuck was an active member of First Baptist Church in Portland for over 35 years and then attended Galilee Baptist Church in Gorham, Maine for the past 25 years. He served in many ways – teaching Sunday school; ministering at an inner-city Sunday school at Pleasant Hill, working as a Sunday school and Junior church teacher, Missions Board member, and sound technician. He also, snow plowed the church parking lot and built a handicapped ramp to help another church member. A desire to share the gospel meant that he passed out tracts wherever he went.
Chuck was a hard worker, running his own construction company for 20+ years, a propane gas company for 15+ years, and finally working for Amerigas Corp until his health forced him to retire in 2008.
He was always active and enjoyed gardening, making maple syrup, raising chickens, pigs, and bees, woodworking, and running the live bait business that his Dad began around 30 years ago, in the pond that he and his father built.
He devoted his life to his family, raising four children and enjoying and loving 13 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild who all share memories of his teasing, praying, rides in the canoe and on the lawn mower, and him helping with construction projects in each of our homes.
He is survived, and will be greatly missed, by his wife of 38 years, Arlene Zwicker Cram; his four children and their spouses: Chad Cram and his wife Rebecca; Kelli (Cram) Mehl and her husband David; Jason Cram and his wife Heidi, and Julie (Cram) Roberts and her husband David; 12 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; 2 sisters: Carol Leighton and Beth (Cram) Thomas and her husband Clifford; also, multiple nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and nephews. He is predeceased by 1 granddaughter.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 13 at 10:00a.m. at Galilee Baptist Church with a reception to follow.

Kenneth Russell Baker
Augusta - Kenneth R. Baker, 89, of the Cony Road, died on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at the Maine Veterans Home, Augusta.
He was born in Bath on September 19, 1921, the son of Walter and Estelle (Blackman) Baker.
Kenny grew up in Woolwich, attended the Chopps School and went off to serve his country by joining the United States Army where he served faithfully as a cook from 1942-1945 after which he received an honorable discharge. He loved to share some of the stories and antics that went on in the cook shack wherever he was serving. He was awarded a "sharpshooter" medal for his proficiency as a rifleman, which certainly helped out later when he would go on successful bull moose hunts and/or buck hunts....and, he was never one to come home with a doe, but always a buck, and usually a pretty good sized one!! He especially enjoyed coming home from a successful hunt and showing off that monstrous bull moose he shot or the big buck with all the antlers. He was a true sportsman!! In addition to hunting, Kenny enjoyed playing the guitar and listening to "country western" music; as well as riding his motorcycle and doing lots of fishing when time allowed.
Kenny worked many years at the Hyde Wyndless Plant in Bath and then was a shipfitter for many years at Bath Iron Works from which he eventually retired from in the early 1980s.
While Kenny was a long term resident of the Maine Veterans Home in Augusta, he made many friends and was known for his "joking around" and his great sense of humor as well as his "gentlemen's politeness". Kenny was a member of the Emerson and Lane Post #132, American Legion, Richmond.
Kenny was predeceased by his parents; wife Madeline Henderson Baker; daughters Janice Dodd and Donna Crosman; sisters Florence Temple, Elsie Stinson, Helen Clancey; brothers Milton Baker, Everett Baker, Bernard Baker, Francis Baker and Russell Baker. Kenny is survived by his daughters Toni Bryant of Harpswell and Barbara Billings and husband Russell of Woolwich; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; sons-in-law Donald Dodd and Richard Crosman; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial visitation on Saturday, July 16th, from 11am to 12 noon, with a funeral service commencing at noon at the Kincer Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will take place following the service at Riverside Cemetery, Woolwich where military honors will be rendered.

Maurice O'Connell Jewett
Lewiston-Maurice (Dusty) O’Connell Jewett, 63, of Lewiston and formally of Brunswick, died Saturday, July 2, 2011 at St. Mary’s Hospital after a brief illness.
Maurice was born in Bath Maine on June 12, 1948 to Carl E. Jewett and Stella E. Jewett . He attended Brunswick schools, where he loved most of his life, spending the last seven years living in Lewiston.
He served his country proudly from 1966-1969, serving in Germany, the Czechoslovakian border and Vietnam. He worked from 1978 to 1993 at the Maine State Prison in Thomaston, but spent most of his life working as a mechanic, most recently at RDA Automotive in Lewiston. He was an avid NASCAR fan and automotive enthusiast he enjoyed baseball and football, even taking time to help coach his grandson’s football team. He was an avid gun collector and took on many at home jobs as a gunsmith.
Maurice was predeceased by his parents, Carl E Jewett and Stella E. Jewett as well as a sister Kathleen Jewett McCourt. He is survived by his wife Pamela Bowmer Jewett, his daughters Stella G. Trahan and Kathlyn H.P. Jewett, son Michael W. Jewett, grandsons Conner M. E. Jewett and Carl E. Jewett, and two young men he was very proud of and thought of as sons Jonathan A. Jewett and Jason E. Jewett and his son in-law Jason T. Trahan.
There will be a graveside service at Harding Cemetery in Brunswick on Thursday, July 14th at 6pm with a reception to follow at the Richmond American Legion Carding Machine Rd. Richmond.
John R. Fales
Cushing – John R. Fales, 61, of Cushing died unexpectedly from health complications at Maine Medical Center on June 15, 2011, surrounded by his family. He was born in Rockland, on July 6, 1949 to Richard and Elaine Fales.
He was the 6 generation owner /operator of A. S. Fales & Son general store in Cushing. He was a member of the Cushing Rescue Squad and the Fire Department. In his spare time he love to go fishing and tell his stories over coffee at the store.
He is survived by his wife Phyllis Fales of Cushing, his parents Richard and Elaine Fales of Cushing. Three daughters, Jo Fales, of Warren, Heather and her husband DJ Blais of San Diego, CA and Kelly J. Fales and her husband Robert Burns, of Cushing. A sister Marie and her husband Arthur Pease of Thomaston and a brother James Fales and his wife Caroline of Thomaston. Four grandchildren, Brittany Lee Fales, Hillary Jo Fales-Haynes, Devin Jacob Fales Blais, and Lizzie Claire Blais. One great grandchild, Mikayla Harmony Boyinton.

Jason C. Belanger
BOWDOINHAM — Jason C. Belanger, age 34, died on June 25, 2011 as a result of an automobile accident. He was born in Brunswick, son of the late Charles Belanger and Linda Read England of Bowdoinham.
He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and relaxed watching the Red Sox and the Patriots.
Jason is survived by his Mother, Sisters Rene´ Smith of Topsham, Jessica Belanger, Nicole England and Brother Nathan England all of Bowdoinham, two nieces and a nephew.
A visiting will be held at Kincer Funeral Home on June 29 from 11 a.m. -1 p.m. and a gathering of family and friends will follow to celebrate Jason's life. This will be held at Topsham Fair Exhibition Hall, Elm Street, Topsham at 2 p.m.

Catherine J. (Doig) Wyman
Catherine J. (Doig) Wyman, 93, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2011. She was born on September 3, 1917 in Brookline, MA, daughter of Thomas and Catherine (Beattie) Doig of Aberdeen, Scotland and Winthrop, MA where, after the death of her mother in the Flu Epidemic of 1918, Catherine was raised by a close knit extended family. She married John Dyer Wyman, also of Winthrop, and the couple spent the first year of their marriage in Havana, Cuba. They returned to Winthrop where they lived until moving to Brunswick, ME in 1954. For thirty years of her married life, her husband spent most of his time at sea as a merchant mariner while she devoted her time to raising her three children. Catherine moved to The Moorings in Bath in 2005 and to Sunnybrook Village in Brunswick in 2010. She was predeceased by her husband of sixty years; son, John Wyman, Jr.; sister, Helen Pennell; and three brothers, Andrew, Thomas and Robert Doig. Catherine is survived by daughters, Helen W. Frost and husband Bruce of Seattle, WA and South Harpswell; Catherine W. Powers of West Bath; grandsons Allen Frost and Coley Powers, granddaughters, Laura Frost, Molly Powers Weir, and Susan Wyman; and four great grandchildren. She is also survived by sister, Susan Doig Lounsbury and husband Peter of Framingham, MA; brother William Doig and wife Karen of Simpsonville, SC; brother-in-law, Charles Pennell of Danvers, MA; sister-in-law, Mart Doig of Concord, MA and Carla Horne Burnham of Bath whom Catherine for years referred to as her “third daughter.” Catherine will be remembered for her cheerfulness, ability to see the best in every situation, and appreciation of all people. But perhaps her most admirable and less obvious quality was her inner strength with which she met life's challenges. She will be greatly missed by a large circle of family and friends. At her request, there will be no service as Catherine considered her ninetieth birthday party with many family and friends in attendance to be a true celebration of her life. Internment will be at Orchard Hill Cemetery in West Bath. The family especially thanks the staff at Sunnybrook Village for their loving care and the support provided by CHANS/ Hospice of Brunswick.
Daniel Leroy Durgin
Farmingdale-Daniel L. Durgin, 72, of Bowman St. died Friday, June 17, 2011 in Augusta.
He was born in Manchester on May 19, 1939 the son of Harold and Eska (Rogers) Durgin. Dan grew up in Farmingdale and spent all his life there. Dan owned and operated a tractor trailer truck and scrap yard. Dan and his wife also did building demolition jobs and went to many auctions all over the country including Florida.
Dan loved his neighbors and never refused to do them a favor. He was a quiet man who did a lot of listening.
Dan is survived by his loving wife of 27 years Sonja of Farmingdale, his children whom he loved dearly Dan Murphy and his wife Sandy of Fairfield, Angela Durgin of Chelsea, Marie and husband Marc Tardiff of Chelsea, Wendy Lilly and husband Loren Lilly Sr., of Richmond, Herbert Barry Jr., and fiancée Rachel Meek of Gainesville, Florida, Blaine Marston who was like a son to Dan of Pittston, 15 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren who he loved dearly, sisters Rita Madsen of MA, Phyllis Durgin of N.C., brother Wayman Durgin and wife Eugenia of Florida, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, son Harold Durgin whom he loved and missed very much, brother Elwood and Donald Durgin, sisters Margaret Burnham, Helen Markham, Mildred Clifford and Barbara Moody.

A funeral will take place on Wednesday, June 22nd at 3pm at the Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Church on Hasson St. Farmingdale. Donna E. Post
Freeport-Donna E. Post, 63, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at the Freeport Nursing home.
She was born in Portland on Dec. 15, 1947 the eldest child of Lloyd and Frances Post. Donna was raised and educated in Westbrook.
Donna was predeceased by her parents. She is survived by a sister Diane Dyer and her husband Vaughn of Topsham, and a brother Bruce Post and wife Marg of Mechanic Falls, nieces, nephews, great niece and great nephews.
There will be no service as she requested.

Karl L. Fickett Sr.
Augusta-Karl L. Fickett, 75, died on June 1, 2011 at Maine Medical Center, Portland after a hard fought battle with kidney failure and heart disease.
He was born on May 13, 1936 in Lewiston the son of Charles and Elizabeth Fickett.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Karl retired from State of Maine after 26 years of service as foreman of the paint shop at AMHI.
Karl enjoyed being around people and putting them before himself. He loved to entertain for family and friends. He was a true friend to all that knew him.
He was predeceased by his parents, sister Evelyn Fickett and former wife Ellen Gray. Karl is survived by his son Karl Jr. and his wife Linda of Augusta, beloved sister Betty Pratt of Richmond who was a great help and support during his time of illness, sisters Marie Johnson of Florida, Priscilla Brown of Bowdoinham, brothers Clarence Fickett of Bowdoinham and Zephyrhills, Florida, Charles Fickett of Farmingdale, many nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial service will take place on Thursday, June 16th at 12 noon at the new Maine Veterans Cemetery, Mt. Vernon Rd. Augusta.

Gary D. Gilpatrick
Bowdoinham-Gary D. Gilpatrick, 65, of the Wildes Rd. passed away on June 1, 2011 at the VA Medical Center, Togus.
He was born on December 12, 1945 in Gardiner the son of Kenneth and Eleanor Gilpatrick.
Gary worked at Bath Iron Works for over 38 years as a pipe insulator.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 132 in Richmond. Gary enjoyed coin collecting.
Gary was predeceased by his parents, brother Clinton Gilpatrick and sister Norma Johnson. He is survived by three wonderful daughters Michele Horne of Penacook, New Hampshire, Bridgette Moody of Litchfield, Tanya Poissonnier of Augusta, brothers Dale, Bradley, Keith, Ricky, sisters Jean, Joan, Sandra, grandchildren Ariana, Annika, Acadia, Codi, Cyle and Hannah.
A memorial visitation will take place from 1 to 2pm Sunday, June 5th with a service taking place at 2pm at Kincer Funeral Home. Burial will take place at a later date at Maine Veterans Cemetery in Augusta.

Inge L. Foster
Dresden-Inge L. Foster, 88, of the Oxbow Rd. passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at her residence.
She was born in Berlin, Germany on September 5, 1922 the daughter of Paul and Hedwig (Gohlke) Karsties.
Inge attended school in Chemnitz and Dresden, Germany and law school at the University of Berlin, later at UMA in Augusta.
She loved the rural landscape and restored the family farm fields to raise beef cattle. Her interest in local government and education led to many years of public service, 14 years as a selectman in Dresden, 10 years on the State Board of Education, 3 as chair and 12 years on the local school board.
She is survived by a son Robert N. Foster of Tucson, Arizona, daughter in-law Susan Dustin of Saco, granddaughter Jennifer Foster Sciaraffa of South Portland and great grandson Greyson Sciaraffa.

Wayne Anair
Richmond-Wayne A. Anair, 69, of Lincoln St. passed away after a long illness on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at the VA Medical Center, Togus.
He was born in Wilder, Vermont on August 2, 1941 the son of Leonard and Geraldine Anair.
Wayne served his country in the United States Army while being stationed in Germany. He later worked for Health Tex in Brunswick for 20 years, and retired from BIW in 2004.
Wayne enjoyed spending time at Bob’s Auto, Friday night horse shoes with good friends like Dick Hurley, Tuesday night Texas Holdem, NASCAR, and traveling to many warm tropical areas with his wife.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years Lubow Rogochoff Anair, son’s Robert Anair and wife Tracie, Richard Anair and wife Melanie all of Richmond, sisters Linda Anair, Mary Hart and husband Philip both of Richmond, Jane Moorehead and husband Carl of NH, brothers Ronald Anair and companion Priscilla of Monmouth, Charles Anair and wife Sandra of Litchfield, grandchildren Jessica, Kelsea, Logan and Destiny Anair of Richmond.
Wayne was predeceased by his parents, brothers Barry Anair, L. Bob Anair and a sister Beverly Curtis.

Richard “Hound Dog” Clarence Rackliff Sr.
Dresden-Richard C. Rackliff, 80, died after a long illness on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at Maine General Medical Center, Augusta.
He was born in Rockland on August 12, 1930 the son of Clarence and Lucy Rackliff.
Dick was a 40 year employee of Bath Iron Works, retiring in 1990. Dick was a longtime member of the Gardiner and Augusta Eagles Club.
He enjoyed playing pool, selling cars, van trips, and particularly spending time with his family and friends.
Dick was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Marjorie Rackliff of Dresden, daughters Bonnie Delano and her husband Dana of Dresden, Louann Pontau and her husband Robert of Wiscasset, Sonia Pearson and her husband Timothy of Wiscasset, son Richard Rackliff Jr., and his wife Katie of Wiscasset, sister Joan McCormick and her husband Tom of Florida, 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren with one more on the way.
A memorial service will take place on Thursday, May 19th at 1pm at Kincer Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Dresden.

Evelyn Wing
Topsham-Evelyn B Wing, 87 Of Richmond Died peacefully in her sleep with her family by her side on May 12, 2011. She was born on August 16,1923 to Chester and Margarite Ames. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, Crocheting, baking, gardening and doing word find puzzles. She also loved her time shopping or going dancing with her close friend Gerri Blake. She worked at Eaton shoe & Claristat before retiring. She was predeceased by her Husband Rex Wing, A Daughter Beverly Lebel, and a grandson Robert Wing Jr. She is survived by her children Robert Wing and his wife Darlene of Bath, Bruce Wing and his wife Catherine of Brunswick, Kenneth Wing and His wife Kathy of Wiscasset, and Crystal Rollins and her husband Joe of Brunswick, 8 Grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and several neices and nephews. There will be a private graveside service in Leeds on Tuesday May 17 2011 at 2pm with a Celebration of her life to follow for family & friends at the American Legion Post 132 on Carding Machine Rd. in Richmond, Me. from 3-5pm.

Faylene Perkins
Brunswick-Faylene Alice Perkins, age 86, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, died with her family at her side at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick on April 30, 2011 of complications from chronic pulmonary disease.
Faylene was the only child born of Watson and Mona (Burgess) Nickerson in Belfast, Maine on May 16, 1924. She attended Crosby High School and her love of education led her to attend one year of post-graduate work there as well.
Following high school Faye married Rodney F. Black and began work in secretarial positions until her children were born a few years later. They moved to Presque Isle to be closer to her parents who often looked after her children while she worked in the office and the Maine Potato Growers’ Association.
After divorcing, Faye, her parents, and her children moved to the central part of the state where she married Harold Perkins and worked for New England Tel & Tel Company for several years. Before she retired in the seventies, Faye worked as the Comptroller for the Crowe Rope Company in Warren, Maine. Following retirement, Faye and Perk spent time traveling all over the Eastern Seaboard in their motor home before finally settling in Ruskin, Florida. After she was widowed, she returned to Maine to be closer to her family.
Faye has left a legacy of friends from her many travels. Friendliness was one of her biggest strengths; she drew people to her with her warm smile, infectious laugh, and her ability to touch people’s hearts and lives. As a younger woman, she liked nothing better than having parties where she and others would gather around the piano to sing as she played.
Faye lived an eventful and very full life. She was very adaptable and resourceful, making important adjustments in her life in order to provide for her children. She was a determined, independent and courageous woman, who was also direct and straight-forward in her dealings with others. Faye enjoyed learning new things, and continued to do so even as she aged, writing emails to her friends and surfing the net on her new computer. The passions in her life included her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren (all of whom she had special nicknames for), eating lobster and rooting for her beloved Boston Red Sox.
Faye was predeceased by her husband, Harold Perkins, and is survived by her son, Bruce W. Black and his wife Linda of San Marcos, California, her daughter, Roxie M. Black of Cumberland Maine, five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and many special friends. She will be sorely missed.
A celebration of her life will be planned for later in the year.

Ella M Curtis
Ella M. Curtis, 96 of Bowdoinham, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2011. She was able to live at home up until a week before her death.
Ella May Purington was born on February 3, 1915 in Bowdoinham to John A. Purington and Lottie May Buker Purington. Ella was predeceased by two older brothers; Lauris Purington in 1935 and Ralph Purington in 1986. Ella grew up in Bowdoinham and graduated from Coombs High School in 1933. Instead of a graduation ceremony the class requested that the principal allow them to make a class trip to Washington D.C.
Ella went on to Leslie College in Cambridge, MA and earned her degree to teach school in 1935. She taught at the Bishop School, Coombs School, and Bowdoinham Community School for over 30 years-even serving as principal for some of those years. Ella was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society for women dedicated to their teaching profession. She was also member of the Eastern Star, Sunshine Society, and the Bowdoinham 2nd Baptist Church. In retirement she continued to volunteer helping both adults and children learn to read.
Ella married Delmar E. Curtis on July 22, 1939. They ran the D.E. Curtis General Store (now the Bowdoinham Country Store) from 1940 to 1959. Ella was always an active community member helping with the annual Bowdoinham BBQs and supporting the building of the Bowdoinham Community School. Known as “Aunt Ella, Mom, Gram, Grammy and G.G.” she enjoyed visiting with friends and family and always wanted to know how each one was doing. She had a wonderful way of making everyone feel valued and special. She liked to bicycle, snowshoe, travel and birdwatch. She enjoyed going to her winter home in Florida and playing cards with friends.
Ella was predeceased by her husband Delmar in 1983. She is survived by hers sons John Curtis and his wife Jackie of Lisbon Falls and Robert Curtis and his wife Nancy of Bowdoinham. Also sister-in-law Eleanor Purington of Augusta, nephew Dennis Purington of Belgrade and niece Sharon Basinger of Rockwell, NC. Grandchildren include William Curtis and his wife Penny of Richmond, Elizabeth Banda of Readfield, Hannah Dickinson and her husband Steve of Brunswick, Catherine Curtis and her husband Frederick Czerwinski of Bowdoinham, and Christine Moulton and her husband Woody of Cutler. She leaves nine great grandchildren: Meagan, Eric, Crispin, Margaret, Michael, George, Meg, Greg, and Sarah and one great great grandchild Cailey May.
A Celebration of her Life will be held at the Bowdoinham 2nd Baptist Church on Saturday, May 7th at 2:00 PM with a reception to follow at the church.

ESTHER A. WALLENTINE
Brunswick-Esther A. (Gavel) Wallentine, 93, of Bowdoinham died unexpectedly on Sunday, April 24, 2011 at Parkview Hospital.
She was born in Chelsea, MA on March 7, 1918 the daughter of Lewis G. and Edna H. (McGeouch) Gavel.
Esther lived a full life and happy life. She went to business school, worked on payroll for Jordan Marsh in Massachusetts and in Maine. She learned to fly planes and received her license. Esther took outside sewing jobs to pay for flying lessons and received her license at the age of 55. She was a 60 year member of the Second Baptist Church, Bowdoinham, where she was active in raising funds for repairs of the church, along with full restoration of the organ. She taught Sunday School, was president of Ladies Missionary Society and still sponsoring a child in Haut Tamisso through the Christian Children’s Fund.
She went through the chairs of the Eastern Star and was active in the Fireman's Auxiliary.
Esther and Mr. Wallentine went on tours of the world. She continued after his death, on a world cruise and a trip to Senegal, West Africa. In 2004, she compiled a Family History of her father-in-law, Charles Wallentine, who was born in Lithuania, and the Family History of the Gavel Family, the descendants of her great-grandfather, John Tilson Gavel, who lived in Nova Scotia. She was able to get most living descendants to contribute letters about themselves. These will be valuable family treasures as the years go by.
She married first, Gilbert Walker Wildes, Sr. and came to Bowdoinham. They divorced. She married second, John Bernard Wallentine, 1945, a farmer and operator of Riverbend Smelt Camps. She continued to manage the Smelt Camps since his death. She is survived by one sister, Jean E. Osborn, Weston, MA; three sons: Douglas C. Wildes and wife Linda of Chelmsford, MA; Gilbert W. Wildes, Jr. and wife Barbara of Bowdoinham; and Andrew B. Wallentine and his wife Robin of Bowdoinham; 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by sister, Ruth M. Stevens, 2003, brother Leonard D. Gavel, 1989, and husband J. Bernard Wallentine 1997.
Family and friends are invited to visit from 4 to 7pm on Wednesday, April 27th at Kincer Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, April 28th at Noon at the Second Baptist Church Main St. Bowdoinham. Burial will take place at Bay View Cemetery in the spring.

Shirley M. Seekins
BATH — Shirley Mae (McKenna) Seekins 79 of Bath, died after her most recent illness and complications on Monday April 11, 2011 in Freeport.
She was born September 22, 1931 in Rumford, ME the daughter of Mary (Gaudette) McKenna and Edward McKenna. She was a graduate of Morse High School, and was Co-Class Agent with Josie Underwood for The Alumni Class of 1950. She devoted her life to her family and her profession. She was a homemaker, Mother, Nana, Billing Clerk for many Doctors’ offices and Chief Technical Clerk for Dept 87 at Bath Iron Works. She was admired by all who knew her for her wonderful witty sense of humor, her incredible perseverance for studying her genealogy, and her details in contributing to the planning all 1950 Alumni Class Reunions. She enjoyed traveling to Prince Edward Island, Canada in search of her heritage. Her commitment, love and her devotion were to her two daughters and her grandchildren. She especially enjoyed the holidays when her family would gather together for celebrations. She was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
She is survived by her two daughters: Carla J. Seekins Whitehead and Lynn E. Seekins Galvan of Bath, ME: Three grandchildren: Celia C. Whitehead, Kai H. Whitehead, Aidan M. Galvan, her sister Phyllis (McKenna) Goulette, and her sister-in-law Dorothy (Johanson) McKenna of Bath.
She was predeceased by one sister: Ada (McKenna) Brown and one brother: Joseph McKenna.
A Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday May 25, 2011 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bath. Following burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, friends are welcome to join the family and share memories of Shirley at the home of Carla Seekins Whitehead.

Johnson E. Nein
Johnson E. Nein, 46, of Wiscasset, Maine passed away unexpectedly at home on April 9, 2011. Born on November 13, 1964 in Damariscotta, he was the son of the late Philip L. Nein of Wiscasset and Grace M. Nein, currently of Torrington, CT. Johnson attended Wiscasset schools.
In addition to his mother, Johnson is survived by his sister, Gretchen L. Bergman of Torrington, CT, and her children, Johnson's beloved nephew and niece, Charles Andrew Nickerson, and Kaitlin Elizabeth Nickerson, of Torrington, CT. He also leaves behind sisters Juli S. Nein, of Torrington, CT and Sarah K. Nein, of Wiscasset, and brothers Jason A. Nein, His wife Melissa and their three little girls of Boothbay, and Joel G. Nein and his four wonderful children of Westport Island.
Johnson will be sadly missed by many cherished cousins, aunts, uncles and friends, including his very dear friend Clark Jones. Johnson was a sweet and kind individual who will be missed by so many who had the good fortune to cross his path. He had made many acquaintances on his life's unique journey. He had a wonderful sense of humor, loved music, was an impressive chef, and always had a towering bear hug for everyone. Not only would he "give the shirt off his back" to someone in need, often he did just that. The world was a better place with Johnson in it, for he truly was a lover of people, always concerned with the human condition.

Margaret Haskell Smith
Freeport-Margaret Haskell Smith of Windsor Post Road, Freeport, died March 21, 2011 at home in Freeport.
Mrs. Smith was born on August 14, 1920, in Newton Center, Massachusetts, daughter of William A. Haskell and Margaret Lincoln Barry.
She spent her years in Newton Center attending local schools. In 1935 she entered The Emma Willard School in Troy, New York, from which she graduated in 1938. She then attended Smith College, graduating in 1942.
Her summers were spent at the family cottage in Blue Hill, Maine, and it was in Blue Hill at the age of 16 that she met her future husband Halsey Smith of South Orange, NJ. They were married in Trinity Episcopal Church, Newton Center on December 19, 1942.
In 1945, after Mr. Smith’s return from duty in the Marine Corps., they settled in Orange, NJ, where they lived until 1951. In September of that year, Mr. Smith became associated with the Casco Bank and Trust Company and the family moved to the Portland area, settling on the Blackstrap Road in Falmouth. In 1969 they moved from Falmouth to Freeport.
Mrs. Smith was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her brother William A. Haskell of Topsham, and a son-in-law, Gerald A. Shafts. She is survived by her four children: Margaret Coburn Smith and her partner Sandra Bishop of Landrum, SC; Karen W. Shafts of West Roxbury, MA; Halsey Smith, Jr. and his wife Cynthia of Wellington, FL; and Ellen Ebert and her husband Daric of Freeport. She is also survived by six grandchildren – Heather Winson of South Portland and her husband Rob; Melissa Sykes of Lynnfield, MA and her husband David; Emily Ebert of Burnham-on-Crouch, UK and her husband Harry; Nicholas Ebert of Portland, ME; Zachary Smith and Dean Smith of Wellington, FL – and eight great-grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, April 2, at 2:30 p.m. at the South Freeport Church on South Freeport Road. Kenneth Patrick Stewart
Dresden-Kenneth P. Stewart, 61, of Hunter Rd. died on March 22, 2011 at his home with his family by his side.
He was born on September 18, 1949 in Norwood, Massachusetts the son of Richard and Rita Stewart.
Ken proudly served his country in the United States Marines during the Vietnam era. Ken and his wife Janet currently own and operate Meeting House Market in Dresden.
He enjoyed snowmobiling and ATVing with his four grandchildren.
Ken is survived by his loving wife Janet Stewart of Dresden, daughter Ann Marie, son’s Kenneth and William all of Dresden, brothers Jack and Daniel Stewart of Dresden, Edward Stewart, Richie Stewart, sisters Bernice Konary, Eileen Stewart, Ann Marie Guzzetti all Cape Cod, Masschusetts and grandchildren Owen, Isabelle, Anthony and William.
He was predeceased by his parents and a brother William Stewart.
We will all miss his great sense of humor, which he had all the way till the end.
A memorial visitation will take place on Friday, March25th from 4 to 8pm at the funeral home. A funeral will take place on Saturday, March 26th at 1pm also at the funeral home. A gathering will follow at Ken and Jan’s home for food and getting bombed.

Wynnefred Shepard
Georgia-Wynnefred Scott Shepard, 94 of Richmond, Maine and Okeechobee, Florida, passed away March 11, 2011 in Southeast Georgia Health Services Hospital, Brunswick, GA after a short illness.
Ms. Shepard was the widow of Captain Leon P. Shepard of the Maine State Police, Richmond, Maine, married November 22, 1945. She was born March 30, 1916 at Wilton, Maine and the daughter of Hadley R. Scott and Alza Howland Scott. Educated in Wilton schools, Wilton Academy, Bliss Business College and University of Maine, Augusta, Mrs. Shepard taught school several years at Litchfield Academy and the school systems of Litchfield and Richmond, Maine. She also worked as a secretary and court reporter serving the Maine State Police Crime Lab and Forensic Laboratory for 10 years as well as the Women’s Reformatory and a 1945 Maine State Legislative Session.
Mrs. Shepard was a well-known soprano soloist having studied with Mary Manter of Waterville and James Quillian of New York City. She studied Opera at the Vienna Opera House in Austria and languages in Munich and Rome. She gave many concerts and appeared as soloist at many national and state conventions and with numerous colleges and orchestras. She was a well known church and oratorio soloist at Palm Beach, Florida, Phoenix, Arizona, as well as Rome, Italy and multiple locations in Maine.
Spending time with her many friends was one of Wynnefred’s most enjoyable pastimes. She was a member of Eastern Star and a golden Sheaf Member of Franklin Grange and Enterprise Grange #48. As a member of the Dresden Richmond United Methodist (DRUM) Church in Richmond, Maine, she offered encouragement to many and shared many stories of her worldwide travels. She occasionally filled in as choir director and was very involved with the Women’s Society of Christian Service and United Methodist Women.
Ms. Shepard was also a very active member of the First United Methodist Church in Okeechobee, FL. Her greatest joy came from her singing and sharing her love of music.
She is predeceased by her husband Leon P. Shepard, brother H. Raymond Scott, stepdaughter Hannah Frank and step-grandson Leigh Shepard. She is survived by a sister Dorothy S. Dow of Brunswick, GA, a sister-in-law Arlene Scott of Bath, Maine, six nephews and nieces, stepson Murray L. Shepard and wife Marion A. Shepard, step granddaughters Catherine Ahearn and husband Brain Mansir and Beth Norton and husband George Norton.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 25 at 1:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church in Okeechobee, Florida.
Graveside Services will be conducted May 28, 2011 at 11:00 am at the Shepard Plot at the Litchfield Plains Cemetery, Litchfield, Maine.

Linda A. Pulk
AUBURN — Linda A. Pulk, 69, formerly of 15 Stone Lane in Litchfield, died peacefully on March 12, at Auburn Hospice House, with her loving husband, Ken by her side.
She was born in Lisbon Falls, Dec. 9, 1941, a daughter of Carroll B. and Florence (Pelley) Huston. She was educated in local schools and was a graduate of Lisbon High School. She was a homemaker, mother, Nana, wedding planner, DJ, cake decorator and ran her own day care for many years. She enjoyed many hobbies: quilting, sewing, knitting, four-wheeling, snowmobiling and camping. She was an active member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
She married Kenneth Pulk on April 14, 1974. Together they raised her three children.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Pulk of Litchfield; children, John Pulk of Litchfield, Kevin Pulk and wife, Stella, of Litchfield and Jennifer Stone of Auburn; grandchildren, Kristopher, Morgan, Logan and McKalla Pulk and Matthew, Danielle, Donna and Megan Stone; great-grandchild, Kassidy Pulk; sisters, Gwen Stebbins and husband, Arthur and Donna Pelkey and husband, Bob, all of Lisbon Falls; brothers, Donald Huston and wife, Eleanor, of Lisbon Falls, George Huston and wife, Jeannie, of Lisbon Falls, John Huston and wife, Debbie, of Bowdoinham and Norm Lamphere and wife, Joyce, of Lisbon Falls; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was predeceased by four brothers; and two sisters.

Claude R. Guilbault
Claude R. Guilbault, 76, of Brunswick, Maine died on February 24th, 2011 at Freeport Nursing Home after a long illness.
Claude was born in La Salle, Quebec on September 4, 1934, the seventh of Alexandre and Emilia Guilbault’s seventeen children. In 1970 he married Jean Ellis. They lived in New Hampshire, Wisconsin and Ottawa, Canada before finally settling in Brunswick, Maine over 20 years ago. He was a graduate of Laval University, University of Ottawa and the University of Wisconsin – Madison. He worked for many years as a clinical social worker in hospital and out patient mental health settings, before retiring in 2001 from Sweetser Crisis Services.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Guilbault of Brunswick; five daughters: Shondra Jin Robbins of Harpswell, Tonia Ashline of Chanhassen MN, Emilia Gonzalez of Vernon CT, Elizabeth Guilbault of Scarborough and Julie Guilbault of Portland; seven grandchildren: Aidan, Grace, Natalie, Nicholas, Dean, Charlotte and Claudia; five brothers and eight sisters of Quebec, Canada; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Claude had a lifelong passion for the outdoors and enjoyed spending his free time playing hockey, skiing, hiking and biking. After moving to Maine he joined the Appalachian Trail Club and in his 60’s he participated several years in the American Lung Association’s Bicycle Trek Across Maine. He shared his love of the outdoors with his daughters and friends, encouraging their participation and cheering them up every peak. He also enjoyed refinishing furniture and working with stained glass.
A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, March 5 at 2:00 pm at the Elk’s Lodge, 179 Park Row in Brunswick. Friends are welcome to join the family and share memories of Claude.

Altha Purdy
Augusta-Altha Asenath Purdy, 77, of Greenville, Maine and Weeki Wachee, Florida, passed away Feb.,26 2011 after a valiant four-month fight against heart and kidney disease. She has been a patient at Maine General Medical Center, Augusta, and the Thayer Unit, Waterville, and a resident at Heritage Rehab, Winthrop. We wish to thank all the caregivers for their love and patience, especially hospice.
Altha was the daughter of Lewis M. Mooers and Bernice Davis Mooers, born May 19, 1933, Gardiner, Maine. As a young girl she was active in school band, Girl Scouts, DAR, Rainbow for Girls. She was a member of the Highland Ave. Methodist Church. Loved horses and took advantage of every chance to ride. Graduate of Gardiner High School., class of '53.
Altha held various minor jobs during her young years. She was very proud of working in the Film Dept. Channel 2 and 7, Bangor, Maine. She retired from the State of Maine, employed by several different depts. mostly DEEP and Vital Records. She continued to work part time at Sleigh Antique Shop in Abbott. She served as a delegate for the Maine State Retirement Association.
Altha loved people and visiting. She was passionate about her dogs. In her youth she took advantage of every chance she had to go horseback riding. She enjoyed travel and visited Alaska, Hawaii, Rome, Venice, the Bahamas, Jamaica, and Scotland. She was a philanthropist to the worlds downtrodden, veterans, Indians, and especially animals. At camp, Beaver Cove, Moosehead Lake, she cared for the wild life, feed the ducks and birds, even had a fox visiting her. She loved fishing, hunting, sunbathing, boating, and snowmobiling. Her biggest hobby in later years was reading, and she had an extensive library of books and magazines.
Altha was an avid hunter and fisherman. She was a registered Maine Guide, holds a lifetime Maine Dept. Inland Fisheries and Wildlife membership. She worked for and supported NRA, Maine Rod and Gun Club, Litchfield Sportsmen's Club of which she served as its President making her a life member.
Altha taught Hunter Safety for over 27 years to Maine's youth in Litchfield, Monmouth, Bangor, and Dover Foxcroft. She held licenses as an Outdoor Education Instructor of Firearms and was a certified and qualified Bow hunter.
For over a decade Altha wintered in Florida, mostly Brooksville area, returning to Greenville summers. There winters, she attended the Spring Lake United Methodist Church where she was active in United Methodist Women and Visitation of the sick and shut-ins; a good eight years of service for her Lord.
She is predeceased by her parents and a daughter, Sheryll Ann Purdy. Survived by siblings, Robert D. Mooers, Barbara MacFarlane, Barbara's husband Larry, 3 nieces, 5 nephews, and many cousins. Of special mention would be her nephew David Mooers and his wife Sue of Hampden. Also of special mention would be her dearest friend Diane Bibber, a companion of over 20 yrs., Richard Blake of Hallowell, and faithful and special friends, Harold and Kathy Smith of Hermon and Masaryktown, Fl. their son Doug and his wife Donna, another son David and his daughter Missy and her children. They became Altha's family away from home.
No rites will be held at this time at the request of the deceased. There will be a memorial service in the spring, to be held in Litchfield. Robert A. Budden
Topsham-Robert A. Budden, 80, of the Meadow Rd. died unexpectedly on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at a local hospital.
He was born in Greenville on May 15, 1930 the son of Paul and Mary Budden.
Bob proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean and Vietnam conflicts retiring in 1970. He also worked at Bath Iron Works for over 20 years retiring in 1990.
Bob was a former member of the Topsham Fire Department and an EMT with Topsham Rescue.
He enjoyed spoiling his wife of 59 years Elizabeth, making jewelry for the various locations that he patronized, panning for gold, gardening, fishing, antiques and canoeing.
He was predeceased by his parents and sister Sally Dopler. Bob is survived by his beloved wife Elizabeth of Topsham, daughters Mary Ann and her husband David of Monmouth, Rhonda Doucette of Wales, Tammy Veno and her husband Steve of Bowdoinham, Kathy Durr of Texas, Debbie Norwood of Northeast Harbor, grandchildren Heather, Shawn, Nichole, Tiffany, Tia, Ty, Amber, Robert, Travis, Sarah and 7 great grandchildren. Also his beloved pets Cherub and Gabriel.
A burial will take place at Maine Veterans Cemetery at a later date.

Ralph L. Parlett
South Gardiner – Ralph L. Parlett of Bartlett Street died of lung cancer Wednesday, Feb. 16, 20ll at home with his loving family by his side. Ralph was born in Baltimore, MD March 4, 1937 the son of Ralph and Lucy (Crane Williams) Parlett. He graduated from Howard County High School in 1955.After graduation he served in the Army and the Maryland National Guard until 1962. After the Army, he worked for the family business, Parlett Ford in Ellicott City, MD and also built houses. He graduated from the University of Maryland and began a 30 year career as an Economist for the U.S. Department of Agriculture where he rose to be a Food Price Analyst and the National Food Price Spokesman for the Department. When Ralph moved to Maine he worked for 5 years as a Tool Pro at Sears in Augusta.
In May of 1965 he married Elizabeth Foresman of McLean Virginia. They resided in Virginia for 36 years; first, in Northern Virginia and next in Northumberland County on the Chesapeake Bay. In 2000 they followed their daughter and her family to Maine, living first in Augusta and then in South Gardiner.
Ralph is survived by Elizabeth his wife of 46 years; his daughter and her husband, Elizabeth and Benjamin Scott and their three children, Nicholas, William and Margret of Dresden; and his son James R. Parlett of South Gardiner.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Ralph’s life will take place at St. Matthias’ Episcopal Church, 15 Spruce Street, Richmond, ME on Saturday, Feb. 26 at 2:00pm.

Richard A. “Dick” Strout
Richmond - Richard A. Strout, 74, died on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at the home of his sister in Bangor.
He was born on March 12, 1936 in Richmond, the son of Richard and Gertrude (Moore) Strout.
Dick was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Ralph Strout. He is survived by his sister, Phyllis Pushard of Bangor, three nephews, one niece and five great-nephews.
Dick wanted to thank his many friends for their care and support, especially his sister Phyllis and friends, Bob, Gary, Richard and Mel.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, February 18 from 6 to 7 p.m. with a service being held at 7 p.m. at Kincer Funeral Home. Burial will be private.

Lillian M. Murray
Litchfield-Lillian M. Murray, 84, of Porter Park Lane died on February 9, 2011 at Maine Medical Center in Portland.
Lillian was born on Chebeague Island on March 22, 1926 the daughter of Harry and Violet (Doughty) Goodwin.
She worked at the Hill House in Bath for many years as a CNA.
Lillian enjoyed picking blueberries, playing the piano, singing and the yard sale circuit.
Lillian was predeceased by her husband George Murray, sisters Verna Spaulding, Jane Carpenter and brother Nevell Goodwin. She is survived by her daughters Andrea Murrillo of Brunswick, Joan Allard of California, Carol Towle of Gardiner, brother Gerald Goodwin of Bath, 12 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
A burial will take place in the spring.

Marian Lewis
Freeport-Marian E. lewis-91, formerly of Berrien Springs, Michigan died early Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011, in Freeport, Maine. Marian was born April 11, 1919, in Berrien Springs, the daughter of Byron and Josephine (Whetstone) Lochinaw. She was raised in Berrien Springs and graduated from Berrien Springs High School. She married Virgil Lewis on Oct. 10, 1939, and they lived in Berrien Springs until 1951. They resided in Michigan until the early 1970s when they moved to Tennessee. While there, Marian earned her college degree at Vanderbilt University. Marian moved to Freeport, Maine, in her later years to be near to her son.
She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church since 1946: She loved her family and enjoyed people. She always kept her home spotless and was concerned that she herself always looked her best. Marian enjoyed traveling with her son and friends. Her main concerns were shut-ins and people of the church who couldn't get out or had no one to care for them.
Surviving are two daughters, Madelyn (Raymond) Hamblin of Brooklyn, Mich., and Diane (Kenneth) Barnum of Eau Claire; a son, Ted M. (Sharon) Lewis of Freeport, Maine; and four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil; her grandson, Kenny Hamblin; and four sisters, Madelyn McCray, Helen Busse, Bernice Wetzel and Doris Parker Sink.
Funeral services were held at Saturday, Feb. 5, at the Castel buono Youth Chapel of Pioneer Memorial Church on the campus of Andrews University, Berrien Springs. Memorial contributions may be made to "Your Story Hour."
Jacqueline Ryan
Richmond-Jacqueline T. Ryan, 67, died Monday, February 07, 2011 at Mid Coast Hospital, Brunswick following an extended illness.
She was born on November 11, 1943 the daughter of Myrela and Raymond Tremblay. She graduated from St. Dominic’s High School in Lewiston. She later earned her Bachelor’s Degree and Masters Degree from the University of Maine at Orono.
On October 2, 1965 she married Thomas W. Ryan in Orono, Maine. They eventually moved to Bath to raise their family. Jacqueline taught French at Orono High School, Rockland Jr. High, Brunswick High School and was head of foreign language department at Morse High School before retiring.
Jacqueline is survived by her husband of 45 years Thomas and their five children Erin Wilson and her husband Mark, Greg Ryan and his wife Leann, Stephanie Vidaurri and her husband Greg, Patrick Ryan and his wife Jennifer, Peter Ryan and his wife Krissy, eleven grandchildren, sister Francine Mongue and her husband Frank, brother Marc Tremblay and her father. She was predeceased by her sister Monique and mother Myrela.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, February 10th from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm at Kincer Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, February 11th at 10am at St. Ambrose Catholic Church Kimball Street in Richmond. A gathering will follow in the church hall. Burial will take place in the spring.

Helen Hatch
Dresden-Helen A. Hatch, 77, of Dresden, Maine, died on 1/26/11 at Midcoast Hospital in Brunswick.
She was born on 1/9/34 in Kingfield the daughter of William & Florence Brann.
Helen was a member of the Senior Citizen Group of Richmond, Maine. She enjoyed reading, Knitting, cross-stitch, and crocheting.
She was predeceased by her parents and daughter Susan Hatch.
Helen is survived by her Husband of 48 years, Malcolm D. Hatch, Sr., daughters, Phyllis Fales and her husband John, Sandra Gregoiré and her husband Paul, Karen Jones and her husband Bernard, Son, Karl Hatch and David, Stepsons, Steve Hatch and wife Barbara, Malcolm D. Hatch, Jr. and his wife Susie, Eight Grandchildren, Kelly, Cory, Jennifer, Nick, Jocelyn, Lindsey, Mallory, and Ian, three Great Grandchildren, Ethan, Emma and Zoie and several Nieces and Nephews. And a sister Theona Lagasse.

Priscilla R. Harriman
Richmond-Priscilla R. Harriman, 93, of Hagar St. passed away on January 27, 2011 at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Augusta.
She was born on June 26, 1917 in Somerville, Massachusetts the daughter of Leo and Ruth Bunker.
Priscilla attended Lynn English High School in Lynn Massachusetts, Burdette College and Lynn School of Nursing.
She worked as a nurse for Gardiner General Hospital as director of nurses and VA Medical Center Togus for many years.
Priscilla was an avid flower gardener. She enjoyed her cats, reading, bird watching, the Red Sox and cross word puzzles.
Priscilla was predeceased by her husband Perley Harriman, parents and brother L. Bradley Bunker. She is survived by her daughters Patricia Harriman of Richmond, Linda MacPhee of South Gardiner, grandchildren Lisa Porter Dodge and her husband Carl of Houlton, Heather MacMaster and her husband Mike of South Gardiner, Shawn Porter and significant other Ingrid Nivison of Winthrop, great grandchildren Nicole Toth of Ohio, Kaila, Kasey, Kolby MacMaster of South Gardiner, Benjamin Porter of Winthrop, and sister in-law Dorothea Bunker of Florida.

Norman E. Chancellor
Richmond-Norman E. Chancellor, 79, of Kimball St. died on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at Brentwood Nursing Home in Yarmouth.
He was born on April 30, 1931 in Terra Haute, Indiana the son of Russell B. Chancellor and Clara (Penman) Chancellor.
Norman enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. He drove a school bus for 18 years for the Chelsea and Wiscasset Schools. He also drove a bus for Maine Line Tours for many years.
He was predeceased by his parents, son Gordie Chancellor, brother Lawrence L. Chancellor, sister Elizabeth Kistow, and first wife Shirley Cain.
Norman was survived by Cleo Hinkley Chancellor of Richmond, sons Bruce Chancellor and his wife Rose of Arizona, Aaron Chancellor and his companion Crystal Wellman of Wiscasset, daughters Cheryl Maloney and her husband Patrick of Alabama, Wendy Smith and her husband Steven of North Carolina, Ms. Robin Boucher of Florida, stepsons Dallas Staple Jr. of Kansas, Winthrop Staples of Lewiston, Dean and Wendy Staples of Richmond, granddaughters Sarah Albritton, Becca and Katie Wheeler of Florida, Mackenzie, Kendra, Iyanla Chancellor of Wiscasset, grandsons Daniel Boucher of Florida, James Lenhart and companion Tona Libby of Wiscasset, Justin Chancellor of Arizona, great grandsons Riley Lenhart of Wiscasset, Colby Wheeler of Florida, Brandon and Dalton Eures of Florida, step granddaughters Daniel, Gabrielle, Rebekah Staples of Kansas, step grandsons Clint, Chris Staples of Richmond, Dallas Staples III of Kansas, step great grandchildren Ryan and Jacob Staples of Richmond.

IRENE ROMMEL HEYMANN
Brunswick-Irene Rommel Heymann, who lived in Thornton Oaks Retirement Community with her husband Frank, died on January 6, 2011 at Mid Coast Hospital, after a sudden illness. She was 83.
Irene was born in Philadelphia in 1927, and graduated from Girls’ High School with a scholarship to Temple University, making her the first in her extended family to go to college, where she majored in chemistry and minored in English. Chemistry provided her with professional opportunities, but English was always a love and she later wrote poems and many stories for her grandchildren.
She worked first at Temple Hospital Medical School, then Applied Science Lab in State College, PA, while her first husband, Brendan Sharkey, went to school there, and after her divorce she worked for Allied Chemical Corp. in Marcus Hook, PA. She went back to school at age 45 to get a Teaching Certificate at the University of Delaware, and worked as a very effective substitute teacher in high schools, and finally as chemistry instructor in the dental health program at Delaware Community and Technical College in Wilmington, DE, a job she loved as she had to develop her own courses.
She had married again in 1969, to Frank Heymann, who adopted the three children from her first marriage. They lived in the unique ‘village’ of Arden, DE, until relocation of Frank’s company forced them to move to Florida in 1983. Serious brain surgery in 1985 prevented Irene from working professionally again, but she had a zest for life and did as much as she could despite physical and neurological deficits. She and Frank did much traveling in this country and Europe, especially after Frank retired in 1990. In 2001 they moved from Florida to Brunswick, Maine to live in Thornton Oaks, where Irene founded a ‘Writers’ Group’ among other activities.
She is survived by her husband, Frank Heymann of Brunswick, ME; daughter Leslie Sharkey, son-in-law Jeff Knaack and grandson Jeffrey Knaack – all of Castleton, NY; granddaughter Laurie Knaack and her husband Zachary Goldstein of Silver Spring, MD; sister-in-law Ann Rommel of Chatham, NY, nephew Gage Rommel and his family of Chatham NY, niece Gennifer Westover and her family of Ghent, NY; sister-in law Ruth Bean of Arden, DE and her husband Samuel Louis Bean; niece Elizabeth Bean and her son Jamie of Arden, DE, nephew David Bean and his family in Bethel, ME, nephew Jonathan Bean, MD, and his family in Needham, MA; and three cousins – Emma Rommel, Mildred Rommel and Rose Rommel, all of Mt. Laurel, NJ.
Irene’s ashes will be interred in the Arden, DE, Memorial Garden at a family gathering some time in early Spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Chemical Heritage Foundation of Philadelphia, PA (www.chemheritage.org), or the National Mole Day Foundation (www.moleday.org), of which she was a charter member.

Patricia A. Billings
Bowdoinham-Patricia A. Billings, 70, of Richards Lane passed away on January 7, 2011 at her home.
She was born in Gardiner on March 8, 1940, the daughter Isadore and Doris Leibowitz.
Patricia was a member of the Bowdoinham Grange, Past Worthy Matron of Electa Chapter #2 in Bowdoinham and past Grand Representative to New Hampshire of the Order of Eastern Star. She was also Past Mother Advisor and Member of the Advisory Board of Bath Assembly #6, Dean of the Grand Cross of Color, and Past Grand Executive Committee Member of the Order of Rainbow for Girls.
Pat was known as “Gram” to the Rainbow girls and worked on many service projects. She loved working with teens and young school aged children.
She was predeceased by her husband Richard Billings and a sister Elaine King. She is survived by her daughter Kim Billings of Bowdoinham, son Daniel Billings of Bowdoinham, brothers Ronald Leibowitz and his wife Elizabeth of Lisbon, David Leibowitz and his wife Rennette of Augusta, Philip Leibowitz and his wife Rayna of Litchfield, grandchildren Michelle Schwarz of Richmond and Richard Schwarz of Lisbon, and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, January 10th from 4 to 7pm at Kincer Funeral Home with an Eastern Star Ceremony being performed at 6:30pm. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, January 11th at 11am at the Bowdoin Center Baptist 1104 Meadow Rd. Bowdoin. Following the service there will be refreshments being served in the church hall. Burial will take place in the spring at Bay View Cemetery Bowdoinham.

Ronald R. Lafrance
Richmond-Ronald R. Lafrance, 43, of Hathorne St. died unexpectedly on Monday, January 3, 2010 at his residence.
He was born on June 4, 1967 in Lewiston the son of Roland and Joline Lafrance.
Ronald enjoyed working on cars, computers, and playing with his dog Ziggy.
He worked for Sears for several years as a brake technician.
Ronald was predeceased by his maternal grandparents and his uncle. He is survived by his parents, daughters Amanda Lafrance of Lewiston, Kristina Lafrance of Poland, brother Steven Lafrance of Lewiston, several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Laura Cederlund
Wiscasset-Laura B. (Hastings) Cederlund, 85, of Wiscasset, died Jan 4, 2011 in Brunswick, Maine.
She was born on August 14, 1925 in Worcester, Massachusetts the daughter of Frank Hastings and L. Theresa (Nims) Hastings.
She enjoyed reading, crocheting and spending time with her family. She & Howard also spent many years traveling.
After High School, she worked at Bell Co in Worcester, Mass. but spent most of her life as a homemaker.
Laura was predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her husband Howard Cederlund, they were married in 1948, son Gregg Cederlund and his wife Linda, daughter Judi and her husband Jim Main, sister Lucy Ward of Shrewsbury, Mass and brother Ralph Hastings of Washington DC., two grandsons Casey Main, Chris Main & his wife Andrea, their two children ( great-grandchildren) Kaitlyn and Cameron. several nieces and nephews.
There will be a graveside service in the spring.
