Olon Chip Burns III

Olon BurnsLitchfield-Olon (Chip) Burns III, 47, of Litchfield, died on March 5, 2016 at his home.

Chip was born on February 10, 1969 in Skowhegan, Maine to Olon Burns Jr. and Linda Collins

Chip was a family man, he enjoyed camping and fishing with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed family gatherings, if there was a baby or child nearby, you could be sure he or she would be attached to him in some way.

Chip was an avid reader and enjoyed painting, drawing and sketching.

In his younger days Chip worked as a lineman for Coutts Brothers for years, then he worked construction building the building that would become Sam’s Club in Augusta. Following that he worked as a Direct Care Specialist serving folks with cognitive and developmental disabilities both for Wellman’s Home in Chelsea, and for Woodside Residential, Inc. in Topsham, Maine.

Chip is survived by his life partner Robin Wilson Sukeforth of Litchfield, his sons Matt Corriveau of Bradley, Brent Burns and Mykayla of Augusta, Brandon Burns of Richmond, Bradley Burns of Windsor, and Olon Burns IV of Litchfield. Chip was also proud dad of five step-children- Dale Sukeforth and wife Jasmine currently stationed in Hawaii, Lihanna Lush and husband Rob of Kentucky, Kari Sukeforth of Litchfield, Ross Sukeforth and Kelsey Paradis of Ashland, and Braedin Swift of Litchfield. Also seven beloved grandchildren. His parents Olon Burns Jr of Solon and mother Linda Collins of Richmond, his brother Shawn Burns and Edie Cook of Richmond, sister Angela Minard and Dave of Bath, his baby sistah* Melody Collins of Richmond, half brothers and sister- James Merrill and Jody of Iowa, Jason Merrill and Ann of Kenduskeag and Lisa Merrill of Greene, his grandmother Rita Collins of Falmouth, numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, and nieces.

A memorial gathering will take place at 12 noon Friday, March 11th, with a service to follow at 1pm at the Kincer Funeral Home 130 Pleasant Street Richmond, Maine.
